The corporations do that because they are the shadow government. They are the framework of communism when the shadow government finally gets in power. Look at Microsoft, Disney, the NFL, and Walmart. They would have major stakes in communism: Microsoft could selectively ban people from using their OS or curate content on peoples PCs. Walmart would probably become one of the main grocery providers and smaller grocery providers would eventually all come under the control of Walmart. These corporations would probably not remain as they are and be absorbed into the government at some point. Look at the power of Youtube and Twitter.
