A good analogy. I don't like to kill even vermin without great need. If wasps, centipedes, spiders or stinkbugs get into the house, I generally catch them and toss them outside, where they belong. But if our house was infested with them, I'd call the exterminator.

That about sums it up for me. Most people are weak, lack any internal standards, and are, TBH, not terribly bright (even the highly-educated ones). I consider our task to be waking them up out of the Matrix.

Of course, there are a lot of genuinely evil people on the other side, probably more than even we realize. Those will have to be dealt with in an appropriate manner.
