saying "African American" has always sounded so odd to me, and I could never understand how anyone says it with a straight face. how many black people in the USA have any ties to Africa at all? I'm Puerto Rican and I've never been to Puerto Rico, and that's not even a different country. what are the odds that even 1% of black Americans have ever been anywhere in Africa, or have family there, or anything at all?

it's so bizarre seeing people drive around with a mask on. you are in your car fucking alone dude, why are you wearing a mask? even if masks actually did anything this behavior makes zero sense.
I saved diligently while I was working, so the only real barrier is being willing to leave behind everything and everyone I've ever known and loved. I really don't want to do that, but at some point I have to prioritize my own life and happiness over theirs. I don't know where I'd go either.
I fucking hate living here. for a while I was just sort of whatever about it. all my friends and family live here so I was hesitant to leave, but I'm reaching the breaking point now. I'm incredibly unhappy here, lost my job due to this bullshit, everything is closed, and every day I have to hear about our dumb fuck governor letting criminals out of jail, giving money to illegals and giving fucking terrorists a free pass to riot while ordering everyone else to stay home and wear fucking useless masks. I wanted to stay and hope that we could make CA great again, but I can see now it's a lost cause.
the one thing I had going for me the last few weeks is boxing. I joined a boxing club and it's been fucking awesome and the only thing that's given me a reason to get up and have something to look forward to every day. I have this sinking feeling I'm going to get to the gym tomorrow just to find out they are being forced to shut down again. what the fuck do I even do now? just wake up every morning and exist until I fall asleep again? go nowhere, gain nothing, learn nothing, meet nobody, just sit in my house fucking alone and have a meaningless existence until our governor decides it's okay for people other than illegals and terrorists to go outside again.
I hate living in California. Our grocery stores have security guards posted at every entrance that wont let you enter without a mask. Some stores kept this up even during the brief time before our fuckup governor reinstated the mask requirements.

went to get some boba milk tea with a lady friend today, huge sign on the front door saying face masks are required for entry, and all customers must wait outside after ordering for their drinks. we both walked in with no masks, waited inside for our drinks, then proceeded to stay inside for the next hour talking and enjoying our drinks. not one person said anything to us, and all the people obediently wearing their masks still followed instructions and waited outside for their drinks like good sheep.
