I'm a Rural Mail Carrier who works in the boonies. I deliver to 75% farmers. As you might know, farmers are an aging population as a whole. Some of these people I have seen almost every day for the last decade. I believe something like 6 elderly people died that I was pretty familiar with them and their families since this COVID crap started. At least 2 of these people's families were crying when they told me they couldn't have a funeral or a memorial because of COVID. One guy, who I had spoken with for hours, was a very personable guy with tons of friends. His wife told me his friends were upset because the lack of a memorial. They were all calling for weeks after offering their condolences and every time the wife would get upset again about his death and then upset again about the lack of a memorial.
Sorry about the rambling, but I have been beyond pissed with the hypocritical stance on gatherings. "Re-opening Protests are bad and will cause people to get sick and die" vs "These BLM are peaceful and great". "No funeral for this Vietnam Vet who worked his whole life and helped his community" vs "its perfectly fine to have three memorials for an ex-felon simply because he was murdered by some psycho who happened to be a cop."

Good timing. Just got a tax bill for a 7 acrea rural property with no septic, no electric, no running water that was classified as 'wasteland" by our county 5 years ago. No improvements or anything. Its cut out of 74 acres my family has owned for 150+ years. The tax bill is close to $1100. Last year it was $878, year before $21.
The remaining 67 acres pays about $90. Since there isn't cropland attached they have to tax it as a 7 acre residential lot they say. Simply because there isn't another category, I have to pay an extra $1000 a year. Fuck this shit. I already own a Bulldozer......
