Honestly, I don't blame social media. People participate on those platforms by choice. There are alternatives if people care enough to make and use them. There are real news outlets reporting on everything the leftist media tries to hide. Social media can't really control people who can think for themselves and are willing to engage.

When I look at this election, and current events, I think not just about what the founders envisioned for our government, but for its people. Our Republic was built for a people that embraced real virtue and morality. The danger always was that it would fall to faction led by the corrupt and supported by the greedy and complacent. The question of 2020 is really a question of whether the people of this country (as a whole) still have enough virtue left to support a republic, or if the great experiment has failed. That's really what MAGA is about; it's not just about draining the swamp in DC, it's also about renewing our communities to rebuild the political capital and public virtue necessary to support a republic. Decades of unanswered leftist propaganda have drained our country of public virtue and political capital; we need to restore it.

Have you seen the Biden campaign advertising? They run photos of riots and promise to "end the darkness and hate of the last four years". They are literally blaming Trump for the rioting of leftists. They're counting on low information voters, people not paying attention who depend on biased media reporting to know what's going on. That and cheating are supposed to overwhelm all the voters who are paying attention and getting redpilled at an astounding rate.

Sending any child into the university system in this country is a test of how well you ingrained proper values into them before they set out. His convictions will be challenged and tested by the system in any University.

Biden is disposable. They picked someone disposable for a reason. Only questions left are when, how, and for what purpose they choose to dispose of him.

I hadn't seen any Biden signs all summer, then a week ago they sprouted seemingly overnight all over the place in a nearby town. Probably just one person planting them (I assume with permission), but it's the first energy I've seen for Biden all year. There's a University not far away, so maybe a student on campus for the new year. Still weird to see, and a reminder that Trump and his Pedes will have to work for those states, especially given inevitable Dem cheating.

You're talking about Christians, who are flawed and make mistakes as all humans do. The above poster is talking about the Christian belief system, which expects you to treat everyone with the spirit of love that God shows toward you. Not every set of religious beliefs is as generous or forgiving of those who don't share its beliefs. Jewish law does make frequent use of qualifiers to emphasize their application when dealing with other Jews, rather than making it clear that such law applies to dealings with everyone (which is how many Jewish do scholars interpret them, Jesus being the most notable such example).

Discussing the nature and meaning of religious teachings in no way requires or signifies a hatred toward the human beings who follow those beliefs. Suggesting that you aren't allowed to even discuss a topic without being brushed aside as a bigot filled with hate for having a different opinion is a disgusting tactic of the left that should be left on the places frequented by degenerates, not here.

MN polls are not clean. We've had our own recount debacle and evidence of fraud for many elections now. It wouldn't surprise me if Trump fairly won MN in 2016, but you can always expect the Democrats to go to every length necessary to seize power, and they have the means to do so here. I am not optimistic that 2020 will be much different in that regard.

HOWEVER, cheating leaves evidence. Every single MN pede who registers their vote for Trump makes it that much more difficult for them to steal the election, much less hide their crimes. Even if we can't overwhelm all the built-in cheats the Dems use, we can force them to cheat enough to be obvious about it. We can at least expose their fraud, which may prove at least as important as the announced vote results. This year, more than any other, your vote can count, even if you can't win in your area. Vote like your life depends on it. The lives of you, your family, and your country all do.

Loving your country because it is your country does not mean blind obedience to its leaders or whatever is the current majority thinking. Haters often believe that patriotism is "believing your country is the best simply because you were born there", but they have cause and effect reversed. Patriotism means that you want your county to be the best it can be, and you are willing to work to make it so. That means having principles and a vision of what greatness is, and putting effort to make it so. The question is, again, do you want it to be great for everyone there, or only for the people who are just like you?

Nationalism is not the same as patriotism. If you love your country, you are a patriot. If you only love the people who share your culture (race, language, cuisine, etc), then you are a nationalist. Learn the difference, and don't allow patriots to be lumped in with white nationalists.

The hordes of immigrants bringing in a culture of hate and violence may be our most immediate concern, but look at all the native-born Americans tearing down our country right now. To maintain our society, we had an obligation to educate our children to share those conservative values, and to share those values with immigrants coming to our country to participate with us.

Too many failed in that obligation, leaving it to leftist organizations like schools and big media organizations. We were warned of what was happening, and we did not do enough. Too many of us kept our focus on our own little world, worked our jobs, raised our own families, and left the rest to others. That was our failure.

We need to be more diligent about building a welcoming community based around conservative values. We need to spread them by living and sharing them. We need to Red Pill and reprogram all those misguided Americans to love this country again, and to focus on how we can make it great for the future, rather than how we can exploit its greatness now. We need to do the same for immigrants coming into this country to participate in the greatest experiment in freedom the world has ever seen.

Scapegoating and violence will not work. We can not shoot or "helicopter" enough people to fix the problem. Re-electing Trump in November will give us a window to work on the problem. It will not fix the problem. Trump can not drain the swamp alone. It extends far beyond DC into our own communities. Don't just stockpile for yourself and wait for the world to right itself. Be prepared to engage with people peacefully, and helpfully. Be prepared to welcome people who were lost in leftist propaganda to the right side of history. Reject hostility, and embrace community. The left wants to tear down; if we want to stop them, we need to be builders.

Chancellor was more like Prime Minister in Britain; leader of the legislature (the Reichstag) and head of government (government consisting of all the ministers of the other departments). President would have been Head of State, leading the military and with more foreign policy control. Chancellor needed to form a majority faction to maintain office. Several others tried and failed before Hindenburg appointed Hitler, who managed to find a partner and make a majority with them (Nazis were never a majority alone).

More critically, the deal made Goering Interior Minister of Prussia, controller of the police in the state where Berlin was located. At the critical moment when the Nazis put out the bill to give Hitler unchallenged dictator powers, Goering just arrested enough opposition members trying to enter to vote against the bill to allow them to hit the 2/3rd majority needed to modify the constitution. It was all over after that.

Hitler lost the only election he ever stood for (to Hindenburg for President). He was appointed Chancellor.

Remember a few days ago when we had a big thread discussing "warning shots"? Seems we have a practical example to work with now.

  1. The notion that blue collar work is bad is a elitist leftist distortion. It is perpetuated by those who have never felt the uplifting reward of being able to see the concrete gains in wealth and capital by their own efforts. We should not repeat their distortion. We should celebrate blue collar work, not repeat leftist slander against it.

  2. The worse you make prisons, the more incentive inmates have to cause trouble, the more difficult you make the job of corrections officers, and the lower the quality of personnel you will get keeping these people locked away from society. As a practical matter, the point is to keep criminals locked away where they can not victimize the rest of society; policy should be focused on whatever accomplishes that most effectively, which involves keeping inmates cooperative. Thinking you can work them to a point where they won't cause trouble is fantasy.

Yes, there should be work in prison; helping inmates find reward in productive activity is a useful exercise. Focusing on work as punishment is misguided.

The R7 rocket would like a word about that statement. It was the world's first working ICBM, and they still launch people into space on it.

True, but learn from Kyle's mistakes. It could have done better. Know all the local laws about use of force, carry regulations, etc.

Operate as organized groups, make sure everyone with arms has proper permits and self-defense insurance policies up to date, and clean social media that doesn't glorify guns and violence, or promote racism or other bigotry. Have someone on point who is unarmed (and trained to fight unarmed), so when they intervene and make first contact, it can't be spun as an escalation or you looking for a chance to shoot someone. Rely on your armed posse behind you to back you up if necessary, and you'll be fine. Approach with a hardened, confident attitude, and you may even find that you can drive off these cowards looking for soft targets without having to fight them at all.

Make sure everyone is up to speed on training for their role, and the operations of their equipment. You don't want mistakes or delays due to confusion when shit is going down. Guns sighted in and practice in a high stress environment. Come well prepared to deal with injuries. Going to war involves casualties and you need to be prepared to deal with that.

Make sure there are video recording to refute the leftist lies in court, and get it released on non-cucked sites ASAP. Blast that shit all over the internet. Don't let the news control the narrative. If something happens, call the police ASAP (first call gets first chance at framing the incident for police), but have others call legal defense contacts so there's no delay, and upload videos so the police can't keep them from public view.

Again, it's all about soft targets. They went for Kyle because they knew all they had to do was put out a warrant and he would turn himself in, like a good law abiding citizen. Notice the didn't even go after him in the war zone; they let him walk and filed paperwork on him later.

Ultimately, the answer is to harden up. Don't be a soft target. Be ready to defend yourself, in the streets and in court. Help others become hard targets, rather than victims. Start to bring the walls in around the rioters until they themselves are the softest targets left. Then they will slink off and sulk and it will be over.

Actually, there is a way to effectively disarm a person with a knife, but any close encounter brings risk, and getting in close when you are carrying a gun that can be taken away is foolish. There's no reason an officer should have to accept such an unnecessary risk if they have other options (like shooting the assailant).

I realize this isn't going to be a popular post, but it needs to be said. He was, in fact try to take down a gunman. The facts are just more complicated than that simple line.

Ever notice how viewers at home watching sports on TV generally get a better view of what's happening than spectators in the stands? We're sifting through all the footage coming in through social media that the actual participants didn't have access to. Even then, there are still elements of the timeline that are murky (exactly what happened that caused red-shirt guy to fixate on Kyle to begin with)?

While we can see enough in the video to understand how Kyle had to use force to defend his life, stop and try to ask what Huber knew. Is he visible in any of the videos showing the earlier shooting? Or did he hear the report, respond, and see a man with a rifle fleeing the scene? Taking down gunmen shooting innocent people is something we generally applaud here, and it doesn't seem like red shirt guy had a gun. If we didn't see him throw something at Kyle in the video, we would probably have a very different take on what followed.

Some of the other arguments offered have been less than compelling. Assaulting a minor? Did he get a chance to check his ID? Certainly if I saw someone open carry in state when you have to be 18 to do so, I wouldn't assume they were a minor. Guilty because he showed up to a communist riot? Kyle showed up too, and armed. Do we have footage of Huber engaged in vandalism or violence before his grand finale?

Yes I've seen the listing of charges from 8 years ago (followed by a string of possession charges). Much like Kyle's situation, the background does not dictate the nature of the event. As much as his death was a justified shooting, it remains possible that he simply made a bad decision based on incomplete information, and did indeed think he was doing something heroic. Maybe we shouldn't make too many assumptions about how big of a piece of shit he was based on making the wrong choice in a dangerous and murky situation.

He was in city limits with no valid hunting license (and was non-resident at that). I'd say that's likely "not in compliance with the hunting regulations" We can complain about what should be all we want, but what is is that he was likely carrying the weapon illegally, though that should not invalidate his right to use it in self-defense.

Penuruloki 6 points ago +6 / -0

Only a crime if he was fleeing prosecution. He wasn't. He wasn't arrested after the incident, so he went home. When they put out a warrant, he turned himself in. Making it a federal case might work in his favor, but I don't think that part will stick.
