Yeah I know. That was the point of the reply, that just because they’re a nurse doesn’t necessarily mean they understand the larger context of worldwide pandemic and all its affects.
Tell your wife thank you and to stay safe!!
Ok you jest but a nurse told me that it’s because the Flu comes from travel and people aren’t traveling like they normally do and Covid is 20x as infections as the flu. Therefore it makes sense that Covid restrictions have stopped the flu from spreading (to LITERALLY 0) but have lead to hospitals being overwhelmed.

Looks like Sweden is on pace to have an average year of deaths this year... makes you think.
Yeah but nurses are always busing their butts being too busy, except for that period during covid when they were making all the TikToks. The new pandemic just puts this problem of overworked nurses into the limelight even though it’s been a problem for years now.
One thing to remember is Precovid hospital capacity ran near 80% full, and this was normal. When hospitals closed during the pandemic (ironic) they shrunk down to 20% capacity. When they tell you hospitals are filling up at a crazy rate, they probably are.... back to normal capacity so they can stay open.
That’s why I don’t get. Why would they purposely kill off the population that is following them?
