The most notable thing to understand about their politics is that for generations their despise for the Republican party is passed down from parent to child. Many of them who were not even alive when Reagan was president hate him because it’s ingrained in them that he introduced crack into their culture. There is an inherent, non-factual conditioning to hate and distrust Republicans. So complete is the conditioning that it is unlikely 90% of them would even entertain voting for a Republican regardless of the policies or even race ( see: John James). There is a systemic and thorough conditioning that will not be undone in a single election or by removing corrupt politicians (looking at you, Kwame Kilpatrick)
