I think it has way more to do with the people behind it all and their motivations.
Russia is mostly independent despite not being what they once were super power wise. Communism almost destroyed that... that's why they got attacked by the global cabal in the 1910's before us. We are the new independent nation that must bow to globalism. China is already under than foot. So of course Russia will stay the "bad" guys while we are programed to ignore china which has it's own interested and being happily used as a puppet to destroy all independence left in the world.

World history seems to be a lot more grey in every single conflict. Just know in modern history it's always the common folk fighting the fights of the powers that be... That's all i need to know.
I think the only thing i can start to guarantee about history and especially war both sides were probably lead by selfish interests of the powers that be while the peasants and common folk are conscripted or forced to fight and die in the dirt. Whether their pride in their what ever fooled them into sacrificing it all for other people's bigger interests or not is still a tragedy. From cavemen, to feudal lords, and all the way up until today... 98% of the people fighting probably don't have much fucking skin in the actual game of players moving the pieces.
History really does seem to be a lot more grey in almost every conflict. Written by the winners then into whatever sounds best for them. Sometimes it might be true, other half true, and just as often complete horse shit. Just because something is recorded does not make it accurate.

we always talk about how science fiction becomes reality. 3d printers will become like microwaves, common house hold items. The materials are already being made reusable in home. If taxes and laws didn't force me to work 40+ for myself or someone else. how many of us would be happy just enjoying the outdoors and surviving.. Even if it meant a little more old fashioned hard work mixed with technology. Only mass produce things we need. Solar panels for instance. and you pay a fair price for something that lasts a long fucking time.

Agreed WW2 was definitely more about power and banking.
