I'm writing you today, as a local business owner, regarding the lockdowns affect on our community. We are now over 9 months into the lockdowns with no end in sight. We understand that somewhere between 30-50% of small businesses in this country will never reopen. As small business owners, we have poured our life savings, countless hours, and unimaginable emotional energy into these businesses and sometimes profits are slim in the best of times. Now, our savings are drained along wiith our energy and many have taken on debt to stay afloat. Most heartbreaking of all, our employees and their families are struggling. As employers, we have a responsibility and duty to serve our community and those who have given us so much. Our federal and state governments are nearly bankrupt and they have neither the means nor desire to save us. We can still follow safety protocols and protect those who are most vulnerable by making sure they have everything they need delivered to them in a timely manner. I am asking all of us, as a community, to open our businesses together before it is too late. We are strongest together. I suggest a date of Dec 28th or January 5th. I will be sending a copy of this to our Sheriff's Dept, so they may stand with us. Thank you for your time
