MAGA all the way, but I am not a fan of the 'Emperor' part. Trump is our president (POTUS), but any (even joking) reference to elevating the position of a single person to Emperor makes me cringe. To the TDS people, it makes us look like cult followers, rather than rational conservatives.
Not that i feel strongly about it...
My local watering hole is trying to stay open and in business. Nobody there wants to wear a mask, everyone knows they are bullshit. 2 weekends ago, an inspector with 4 police officers entered during a busy friday night and started taking pictures.
Now, there are a million signs and everyone complies and wears a mask. We all know it is NOT the bar staff's fault. Everyone knows exactly who is the bad guy, and everyone wants the bar to stay open. Most people's masks are either american flags, pro-trump, or some other 'this mask is useless' mask.
Joking aside, I wish we, as republicans and conservatives, could focus more on the proper role of government, and less on moral/religious/personal choice issues like abortion. There may be a high correlation between republican and pro-life, but being pro-life should not be some litmus test for who is republican enough.
Years ago the company i worked for was in the process of a mega merger that was being scrutinized by the DOJ on behalf of our competitors. I was tasked with 'providing statistics', mostly by mining data, to answer the DOJ's questions. One time, i asked our corporate lawyer, 'ya know, they are asking what percentage of X our company owns, would a big number or small number be better?" She looked me right in the eyes and said 'don't ever say that again or you could go to jail. Provide your data as it is, and let the lawyers argue over whether your numbers make our case.' yikes.
Hard to find accurate information about anything these days, but does anyone want to weigh in on The 2012 NDAA ammendment passed by Obama that nullified the 1948 Smith-Mundt act?
"The amendment β proposed by Mac Thornberry (R-Texas) and Adam Smith (D-Wash.) and passed in the House last Friday afternoon β would effectively nullify the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, which explicitly forbids information and psychological operations aimed at influencing U.S. public opinion."
I believe this is on purpose. They want people to believe that the constitution and specifically our rights are no longer absolute, they maybe 'don't apply' depending on the circumstances and the whims of the experts and rulers.
Today, its Muh Pandemic, They are just testing the waters, pushing as far as they can to see what they can get away with, and how much people will cave in until they get push back. The lockdowns, forced quarantine (aka house arrest) and business closings were unconstitutional, but we didn't push back hard enough. The mask orders are unconstitutional but we aren't pushing back. Daily riots and lootings and destroying of monuments are not getting pushed back on.
They will never stop pushing, until we push back hard enough.
Is there a mechanism in place to keep shills and new accounts from downvoting everything into oblivion? Maybe the system keeps track of your upvotes and only lets you downvote that many. Even better (to fool the shills) if you quietly ignore their downvotes -- let them think they are downvoting, but it doesn't count unless they have earned upvote points.
Or something along those lines...
2a) if you are a non-democrat living in a democrat stronghold, where your vote doesn't matter, but your census data helps the democrats... move. To another area or state, where your vote might matter.
