USA is on the brink of its own civil war. It's cultural civil war is just getting started here. Some think that's China's influence but I disagree with that assessment. The west did it to itself with its reverence of international neoliberalism ahead of all other values.
I agree China is not great overall but the way in which China will use Ukraine is not going to be to enforce his culture on Ukraine. Russia still provides a buffer to Chinese cultural dominance. If Ukraine exists Russia's shadow there's no doubt Ukraine will degrade into the western abyss of moral decadence.
There's actually a legal term for those laws. I can't remember it off-hand but generally speaking, those kinds of laws are looked poorly upon by liberty focused people because the laws only exist as a way for people to choose how to enforce it whenever it is convenient for them which leads to corruption. I know what I'm saying is out of context to what we're discussing.

Obviously from Ukraine's perspective in which they have little military strength, trying to maintain "law & order" such that "legalities" matter is preferable because Ukraine doesn't have the military strength to match Russia. When you're fighting from a position of weakness, using things like "legal" to add weight to your position is important, so I get your perspective.

In this discussion, it's Ukraine that worries me. I worry if Ukraine successfully appeals to the west for aid in maintaining its sovereignty against Russia, it will be a deal with the devil and Ukraine will be culturally dominated by the west. Western cultural domination is infinitely worse than losing sovereignty to Russia, in my opinion.

I get that you like Ukraine and I love Ukraine as well. Trust me. Russia is better for Ukraine than the west 1000x over. The west destroys countries and makes them hallow shells to be used as nothing more than resource extraction colonies. Ukraine will never be able to combat the west on its own because it is wholly unprepared for it. Every other country in Europe has fallen to western influence or is close to. Ukraine has a large group of people who are loyal to the EU and the west. These people have a chance of taking over the country and subverting Ukraine into becoming a leftist hellhole like everywhere else the west touches. If Russia is repelled, there is a high chance Ukraine succumbs to leftism. I don't care how based and strong the far-right nationalists in Ukraine think they are, unless they're killing their own leftists in Kiyv (they aren't), then they will fall in time without Russian help.
Russia has proven to be the only country in Europe that can stand up to the west. Either Ukraine is in the west's sphere or influence or Russia's. There is no in-between.
Invading is always just and right if the invaders win. That's how it works. What matters is what is in our interests. Ukraine falling to western degradation is not good for us. Russia should take over Ukraine and block Ukraine from western decadence.

In my reading this summer on the roots of totalitarianism, the most basic thing that comes through is that radicalism of this sort appeals most of all to people who feel small and alone. Woke ideology, as manifested in institutions like Sam’s school (as you can read in the story) holds that males are in the wrong, and that women are in the right. That victims must always be believed — and “victims” includes members of certified victim classes. The woke bureaucracy at that school steamrollered this kid. And there was the alt-right, online, prepared to give him recognition and validation, and to provide malicious theories for why he had been treated so badly.

Western society worked when it was inclusive and merit based but the second people realized they could subvert the meritocracy by playing the victim and vilifying the people who were superior to them, western society was destined for failure.
The reality is that school isn't really needed. Most people who go to school waste their time and money. We need to move on as a society away from the school mould.
I figured it out at ~30yo, which to be fair, is about when you should expect men to figure it out but it was too late 2 years ago to live the life and not just talk it. The way in which SCOTUS has interpreted parts to push equality as led to many issues. Forced integration for example should not be constitutional. The civil rights act should not be constitutional. Are all the amendments actually good, like the income tax or women's suffrage etc...

The reason these academic types can't figure things out is often because they're in way over their heads with the propaganda. Imagine you have some Lego and Duplo sitting around.
