There are plenty of articles out there that go into what would've happened in various scenarios, and yes if Pence had pulled an illegal stunt that would get them both swiftly impeached and convicted, or they tried to stay past the 20th, they would've been literally thrown out of the White House and #1 Observatory Circle exactly like a couple of drunk buddies acting up at the local bar. The insurrection act doesn't work that way or every president would've used that when their time was up.
Once the results are certified by the states, that's the end of the line legally and everything else is purely ceremonial. What happened was extremely wrong and has permanently and profoundly damaged this country, but while plenty of people actually did unethical and illegal things to pull it off, somehow all of the blame is getting placed on one guy who had no more legal authority to do anything about it than any random bum on the street, and I just don't get that.
The VP does not legally have that power. If they did then single term administrations wouldn't even exist.
He didn't have the balls to do what was right, in an unusual situation.
Let's face it, if he had even tried, they both would've been removed from office immediately. Trump himself could've just as easily refused to leave the White House on January 20th and gotten physically dragged out instead.
Agreed. It was already long over by the 6th; the stunt Trump wanted Pence to pull would've gotten them both removed from office immediately. For that matter, if Trump had managed to get so many unexpected votes that they weren't prepared to flip or fake enough to install Biden, they would've immediately started the impeachment process on the grounds that Trump had rigged the election, and if even that failed then they would've had him assassinated.
"We'll just double the circuses and let them eat cake!"
Maybe too many people have become desensitized to them screaming "racist!" at everyone they disagree with, so they need something new to shame dissidents into compliance with? I can understand their fixation with Russia since it's a major holdout from globalist control, but the fact that they think the average person cares just goes to show how out of touch they are. Even during the Cold War, it was the communism we hated, not the people.
The real scandal happened back when China was given control over our economy. After that point gaining control of our government was inevitable.
- Collaborating with an essentially fascist government that is perpetrating an actual modern day Holocaust in the literal sense of industrial-scale genocide, torture, and slavery = Okay.
- Comparing people to Nazis for wanting their Constitutional rights and a decent standard of living = Okay.
- Comparing people to Nazis for marginalizing, dehumanizing, demonizing, terrorizing, and brutalizing a group of people for not being obsequious and self-loathing over their ethnicity = Most offensive thing ever! Canceled! Throw her in the gas chamber, she's a Nazi!
The absolute state of the modern left, folks.
Plus we need to extend that beyond tech and into retail and industry as well.
That and an obsession with a kindergarten version of the American Revolution, when we currently have more in common with the Jamestown colonists in 1609 than the Founding Fathers in 1776. Too many people on the right think that if you don't suddenly seize power by force with no way to take care of the population when nearly everything we need either comes from China or requires materials or equipment that does, then you might as well just give up.
One thing that might help is doing some fine-tuning to the conservative narrative. When it comes to both illegal immigration and especially our economic and political relationship with China, the affluent and influential will be much more receptive to arguments based on human rights violations than they have been regarding adverse impacts on our own working class. It won't win their actual support for any particular policies, since that demographic shuns meaningful change in favor of empty words and pointless symbolic gestures, but would attach shame to outright opposing our platform.
The crops grown on those farms are sterile, so they could just refuse to sell seeds to farmers who don't support The Party.
Don’t go near those who have had the COVID vaccine. They have become homosexuals.
Their choice of words is always telling. Notice how they never talk about your democracy, this country's democracy, or just plain old democracy, but only their democracy.
Yeah, their plan is probably to make sure he can't hold office again even if they eventually have to acknowledge the election was bogus, then gradually admit there was foreign interference but blame it on the Russians instead of their Chinese masters, and hope we'll go over there fighting to claim Russia for the globalists as revenge.
What do leftists think of pretty much our entire establishment being puppets of brutally genocidal totalitarians? I mean if they're not willing to oppose the closest thing the present world has to bonafide Nazis, then they'd have to admit that they only use that word to dehumanize and demonize people over minor differences of opinion. Well, okay, no they wouldn't since they'd just defend it with Marxist drivel about how Asians don't have white privilege so they're not capable of oppression, but it still might be worth a shot.
Without being an expert I can only offer some mostly uninformed personal speculation. I think after rough economic times, at first Hitler improved things for many of the people that he wasn't intent on exterminating, which would have earned their admiration. For others it may have been an exaggerated loyalty driven by fear. The USSR leaders were more leaders of the other high-ranking Communist Party members, while the common people were just worried about survival.
Thanks for the conversation... Have a great day.
You're welcome, and have a great day or good night too.
I don't think some people comprehend the scale of what we're up against and how hopelessly dependent almost all of us are on it just to survive. Until we have our own supply chain that at least covers the basics, even peaceful disagreement with The Party's doctrine risks deprivation. Avoiding major corporations would also greatly diminish China's stranglehold over our society.
We basically are China at this point, so our establishment is complicit.
"Green energy" is scam, created by the CCP to enforce regulations onto other countries so they can gain the upper hand since they do not use any regulations.
Plus they and others are making a taxpayer-funded fortune off of building, installing, and maintaining useless things like wind turbines.
I think hooliganism would be the most accurate term.
It's not only about what they're eventually going to do, which normies might be unwisely skeptical of, but most importantly what they are already doing. This illegitimately installed administration are CCP collaborators supporting slavery and an ongoing genocide. It's simultaneously amusing and sad how so many people will fantasize about fighting imaginary Nazis right up until genuinely totalitarian mass-murderers show up, then immediately decide to become their henchmen.
Ideologies don't actually matter to these people. Those are just tools for achieving greater personal power, so there's no contradiction in admiring various ruthless dictators and influential ideologues even when their visions for society were diametrically opposed.
They just like to feel superior to the "white trash" that they think almost all Trump supporters are. If people they knew were antifa trust fund babies or BLM supporters had done it, they'd be defending it.
It's gotten to the point where someone taking the Bee seriously would be more accurately informed than readers or viewers of mainstream news.
No, it's explicitly illegal.
