1 or more House reps and 1 or more Senators object to each of the 6-7 disputed states. Each state gets a 2-hour debate. Then the House (individual members, not state delegations) and Senate vote. BOTH must vote for an objection for it to be upheld. The House is Dem-majority and will thus NEVER NEVER NEVER vote to uphold ANY of the objections. Thus, all will fail. That means all the contested states' fake-yet-certified Biden electoral votes unfortunately get counted.
The problem is that an objection to a state only succeeds if both House and Senate vote to uphold it. That's every member, not "state delegations" as in a contingent election. The House is Dem-controlled so it will NEVER vote to uphold any objection to any of the disputed states. So regardless of what the Senate does, all the objections will fail, and the certified fake electoral votes from those states will count.
We had 1 senator. Now it looks like we have 11-12. Progress is good.

From what I understand, there was an 1876 (or some time close to then) law passed that limits him to a ceremonial role only, so that he must count the certified results without any discretion. That supposedly is the law Gohmert's lawsuit is trying to nullify, which would restore Pence's full power to NOT count fraudulent slates of electors (and/or count legitimate alternate ones).
Haven't been able to get a straight answer what's true and what's not about all this, though.
