For the love of God, can people stop calling this a “coronavirus relief bill.” It’s an omnibus spending bill. Congress passes one, like, every year. Calling it a coronavirus relief bill is propaganda.

I don’t know why you are being downvoted for your previous comment. Like you, I was surprised earlier when she reprimanded party leadership. She criticized them for expecting a vote only a couple hours after the final text of the bill became available—I take it that’s what you were referring to? The problem is that she voted rank and file anyway. So I’m not sure why people downvoted you because this all happened very fast today.

I agree with you about all of that.

But I did read that she co-sponsored bills that would ban multi-purpose semi-automatic firearms, and would require universal background checks for all gun purchases.

She also calls AR-15s military-style assault weapons... I don’t know if she’s misled or is deliberately misleading but even as a ladypede I know that framing is not right... I know a lot of hunters and their ARs are not assault weapons, haha.

And anyway, her characterization of ARs isn’t the only problem. If she really wants to ban semi-automatic firearms period, that would prevent duck hunters all around the country from owning auto-shotguns. 🤨🤨

But the nuances of my digression are pointless because the right to bear arms shall not be infringed.

She voted Yes. Among the Dems, only Gabbard and Tlaib voted no.

Me too. Whether it’s good or bad, it does strengthen the faith I’ve always had in other Americans. Which is reassuring when it’s increasingly obvious that we live in a cesspool of insanity.

I agree with everything you said. Like Herman Cain suggested, rip up and veto every bill over 3 pages! I guess you would need a paper-shredder for these 5000 page long Debt Bills.

For example, if they're looking at "coronavirus relief" they should have proposed a bill that only covers stimulus payments to Americans who were employed prior to the lock-downs. But I honestly think they should rip that up and compel the states to RE-OPEN so that people can work.

I have complete confidence we could all figure these projects out, and fund them, without the establishment. The problem is too many people are controlled by fear. Too many people put all their faith in the government, rather than in themselves and their neighbors.

I read earlier that earmarked funds are making a come-back in Congress' omnibus spending bills.

So I wonder if Graham just made joint deals to get support for the following projects that benefit SC.

(22) CITY OF CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA.—Project for tidal- and inland-related flood risk management, Charleston, South Carolina (53) Project for flood risk management, Dorchester County, South Carolina. (54) Project for navigation, Georgetown Harbor, South Carolina. (55) Project for hurricane and storm damage risk reduction, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

I'd much rather have taxpayer $ fund projects that benefit SC than go to Libya and Sudan at a time like this. But I think there needs to be greater transparency in general from Congress. And I really don't think they should be voting on a bill this massive so soon after the final text is published. It's outrageous.

Well here's one. The "Basic Education Coalition" thanked four specific congresspeople for including $950 million for "international basic education": Nita Lowey (D-NY), Hal Rogers (R-KY), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Patrick Leahy (D-NH).

The international basic education fund includes $ to improve and expand access to "distance learning opportunities."

That's great and all. But why are we subsidizing other countries' distance-learning programs when our own schools have been closed for a year?!? Can we focus on reopening our own communities?

Well here's one. It appears the "Basic Education Coalition" pressed for $950 million for "international basic education." Nita Lowey (D-NY), Hal Rogers (R-KY), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Patrick Leahy (D-NH) included it.

The fiscal year 2021 funding for "international basic education" includes $ to improve and expand access to distance learning opportunities.

That's great and all. But why are we subsidizing other countries' distance-learning programs when our own schools have been closed for a year?!? Can we focus on reopening our own communities first?

You're very welcome. I figured I ought to share because I had to dig for several minutes to find it. I know not everyone has the time!

They still came with the same "anti-colonial" mindset

Ironic since what you're describing is a new wave of colonization of this land.

Are you a Phoenix professor? Your reading comprehension is sub-par.

The new vaccine is not a small sample of the virus.

It prompts your cells to make a piece of what is called “spike protein.” The spike protein is found on the surface of the virus that causes COVID-19. Your body then kills that.

Thanks, Professor, for explaining how traditional vaccines work. But this vaccine is not "teaching" your body to recognize a natural pathogen via a very small sample of that pathogen.

This is from the CDC:

"To trigger an immune response, many vaccines put a weakened or inactivated germ into our bodies. Not mRNA vaccines. Instead, they teach our cells how to make a protein—or even just a piece of a protein—that triggers an immune response inside our bodies."

Not to mention, they simply did not have evidence the Shanghai Shivers causes “long-term” physical damage a week or two into the pandemic.

The psychological consequences of the lockdown are a crime against humanity. It is even more disturbing to imagine someone with lockdown-induced depression getting facial paralysis due to the Wu Ping Cough vaccine.
