Medscape had an article with the headline “COVID gets areolosized when sick patient is talking!” Big headline that dictated many PPE rules nationwide.
But read the conclusion and there is no certainty. “The study collected air and surface samples from 11 isolation rooms that were used to care for patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. Included in that study were both high volume air samples and low volume personal air samples. The study used the same PCR test as most testing sites were using. Conclusion: Virus MIGHT be transmitted. Studies that rely on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to detect the presence of viral RNA may not represent viable virus in sufficient amounts to produce infection”.
So imagine how low the viral load would be when healthy assymptomatics are talking. That’s why the CDC were against masks in the beginning, they had nothing to back up surface transmissions or passive breathing transmission. Most studies have vague conclusions with vague statements like the virus MAY be transmitted, more data needs to be collected, this conclusion in not certain.
The lockdown was not based on reliable data.
