They have shut off water in my city, my house is 38 degrees, surrounding areas that still have water are told to boil it due to Ft Worth water treatment facility being impacted by rolling blackouts.

Water boil will be in effect for a minimum of 72 hours, no idea when water will be restored as there are water main breaks that need to be repaired.

No ETA on electricity. Luckily I was able to get gas in my truck and the fireplace keeps us warm in the small area in front of it. Coolers packed with our food and snow, it is what it is.

It’s most likely related to the SolarWinds compromise, CISA guidance states not only the SolarWinds servers be immediately disconnected, but also that EVERY device monitored by their product be considered compromised.

The DLL that had the Trojan utilized well known techniques to get local passwords, such as SNMP credentials and service accounts used to manage and monitor routers, switches, firewalls, proxy servers, web servers, domain controllers, DNS servers etc.

The compromise is absolutely massive and has been persistent for 9 months.

That’s your opinion, I gave mine, call me what you want. I could say the same about you, but there’s no need for name calling just because you dislike an opinion. Not everyone who disagrees is a shill dude, we’re not the borg.

As someone who works in IT and compliance, there are no laws that say what you can and cannot do with a USB drive. There are company policies, which are in some way reflected in contractual obligations with the government in which the government, in this case local not federal (local governments are in charge of whatever voting process they see fit), could levy a fine for breach of contract (assuming that is in there, or some other punitive action).

Legally speaking (not a lawyer but I do deal with legal departments quite a bit), the local government also would have to have provisions to be notified, have access to private facilities or code etc for review, otherwise the company has no obligation to comply without a warrant to a review or be in breach of contract.

If I were a corrupt politician I would exclude all of that language on purpose and on the backend say "go to town, we can't legally do shit if you do".

Try to hear me out without instantly downvoting or calling me a shill.

Honestly, she really wasn't a great witness, not because her testimony was wrong, but the way she articulated her response to the democratic senator was very poor. Go ahead, downvote, or scream shill or hater or whatever... IT security is my specialty too.

She got defensive and made absolute claims of fraud (speculation, which I don't agree with, but speculation, again, downvote all you want), when she SHOULD have highlighted the error checking process more explicitly, and she did try, but it didn't come across well.

Tabulation errors and their calculations, and I don't know the answer to this question, and I don't know if either of them know the answer (we need an audit of the software). The senators question was legitimate.

"If I were to run an absentee ballot through the machine numerous times is that machine going to reflect that total in the poll at the end of the day? And is that ballot going to be recorded in the poll book 8 times or something?"

Banter about poll books being off who cares, she claims "they were off" senator quantifies "they were off but less than previous years", two different arguments moving on.

The confusion was she did not articulate properly how the discrepancies are calculated, is it a discrepant ballot, or a discrepant batch? If every ballot in a batch is calculated as a discrepancy then the senator is correct, if a batch of ballots represents one discrepancy, then she is correct.

That should have been her case, which should lead to the next logical conclusion of "we need to understand how these machines actually work and not speculate, we need to audit them."

There was another pede that linked some additional information in one of these threads that made sense of the data. Essentially the mailed out ballot numbers were from the primary, and the mailed in vote numbers were from the election.

Makes sense to me from what I have seen, but the key point is we haven’t seen that information submitted to a court as evidence of fraud, the senator injected the information not Rudy or team in that situation.

maybe it was at a different time than when I was listening, but I heard a senator ask about the 700k vote delta being included in other lawsuits and the response was they weren’t going into those details at this time. I didn’t hear Rudy and team actually bring it up or talk about it in detail, just confirming multiple lawsuits in multiple states.

According to an AP article in October, weeks before the election, 2.6M ballots were requested, and all but 70,000 had been mailed out.

If it was the same thing I heard during the hearing, a senator asked if any of the lawsuits were in regards to the 700k delta.

The response from Rudy and team was that there lawsuits but were not going to go into the details of them at this time.

Additional comment, there are no cyber security requirements for states, just recommendations. https://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/voting-system-standards-testing-and-certification.aspx

"These guidelines, which are voluntary for states, outline specifications against which voting systems can be tested."

Again, NO testing of vote integrity.

I don’t use those words, I have respect for all opinions and respect for however someone else wants to express themselves even if I don’t agree with the way they express themselves.

I understand how someone may feel because of the words I choose, and I choose not to silence their speech because I disagree with specific words they choose and choose to understand intent and context.

Freedom of speech is either absolute or it is not, you’re literally mad because you can’t screen shot a sentiment because it undermines your personal values.

Find your own voice, find inspiration and express in your own words that fit your own values, don’t hide behind others.

And certainly don’t REEE because you liked a perspective but couldn’t copy it verbatim without making yourself sound like a dipshit.

You are the screenshot. You are the derogatory statements. You are the unhinged, you are becoming the “REEEE”.

Calm down, be the side of logic not unhinged emotion.

"Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place." = We are all the strongest link, we are all the weakest link, we will never be better than as they put it "deplorables" / weakest link. This is long, read thru please.

Sorry, for me adversity builds character. My step son who I have fathered for literally 95% of his life, I make good money, his mom makes ok money, and his natural father makes not so ok money. My wife and his natural father are both democrats, his natural father is actually half a step antifa. I don't talk politics with him, it has no value, but every other weekend when he picks my kid up and drops him off we spend some time around my kid together, he is welcome in my home, there has never been any angst at all.

We found out a month ago that our son felt GUILTY about what he had in terms of gifts and presents because his biological father kept calling him spoiled etc.I keep a distance between her and his biological fathers conversations, but I definitely have a word with her, luckily we agree.

It is so ironic that he has the mentality of his kid is spoiled because of what I can provide and his vision of equality wants to diminish that. And to this videos point, he actively doesn't want his child to be more than average, weakest link = strongest link.

I expect more, I don't except average, I don't care about your best friends parents rules, I don't expect C grades in school, and I don't expect teachers to take it easy because his dog died (literally just happened, I am crushed still even though its been over a month, I loved that dog, but my work doesn't care either).

I don't expect his coaches to accept him being average in sports, I expect them to push him to be his best, I have no problem firing a coach and moving teams (he plays club not rec or school programs).

I don't accept 1 gravy when I ordered extra in the drive-thru.

On weekends I have him, on DAYS I have him (most), I put in the work. We talk everyday about how to handle frustration, how to reset your mindset, how to deal with "rage quitting" in video games, how to support your team (family and sports), and I am a hard nosed military vet that has applied bootcamp level correction when I need to in my household (only been 3 times in 9 years when I went literal bootcamp level to make a point).

He performs well in school, is top on his sports teams, I tuck him in and lately every night he tells me "you're the best dad ever" and my only reply is "I will keep trying to be better" and he says "you don't need to".

Sure he has things most kids don't, but he earns in my house, and I ride him in my house. I'm not saying I'm perfect, I get frustrated and come back later and apologize to him like I did today.

Fuck the liberal mindset that being able to reward your child with something other parents can't means they are spoiled or they cant end up in the same place. Even if I didn't have the economic means I have today, I would NEVER blame that as a reason my kid didn't excel, my kid will succeed and fail because of me not ANYONE else.

PARENTING STARTS WITH THE PARENTS NOT THE HANDOUTS A PRESIDENT CAN GIVE.

The next president can take it away. Teach the grit not the hand out, no matter how much money you make.

You can't say "that server" like it is one and done. I understand the hybrid cloud aspect and I can't be sure without more details, but it sounds like you are LB'ing behind cloudflare to a dedicated server to save on cloud costs and cloud based biased infrastructure.

If autoscaling cost is an issue, call it out, let the community help.

But it is obvious there is either a homescaling issue or a cloud cost issue.

You need more rackspace bandwidth, home bandwidth, AWS EC2 or azure VM, or whatever cloud platform you utilize compute and bandwidth.

But it isn't a single server issue, or even a server issue, it is a scaling issue.

The community is willing to front the cost of autoscaling, vet donors, but let them donate, this entire site / community is dead if Trump isn't re-elected.

I am not religious at all, although I have studied religion (not in college, on my own), but the 10 commandments seem pretty rock solid (no pun intended). Simple ideas, simple life.

I'm feeling pretty emotional after responding to the post that encouraged me to create an account tonight, my sarcastic mind has dulled for a bit. Thank you for your conversation, but I need to sign off.

Thank you for the distraction and conversation.

He had 3 seizures in the last 2 years, 2 in the last 2 weeks... I don't know exactly what caused the seizure, but he did have degenerative myelopathy, but that is not seizure related, and he was a boxer, so he had growths throughout his life and it is not unreasonable that he had a growth in his brain. But the cause we thought would be his final moments were not brain related...

I'm numb at the moment, I wont sleep tonight like the past few nights. I will say that creating an account here after lurking for months has given me something than literally sitting here staring at my monitor... Although I'm not ignorant to the echo chamber effect... But I have to do something. And I have a kid and a wife, and another dog, so I do my best to reserve my sulking to late at night.

Sorry long version of "no he did not have spondylosis" and I'm sorry for your loss. I can't say I know how it feels as each loss is different, and I hope for my own sake that you are feeling better, because I hope I do too.
