Sure, the MSM is probably taking payoffs to prop up the Left. But the bulk of their money has to come from ratings and clicks. Once Trump leaves office, the MSM loses their manufactured-Trump-scandal ratings bonanza.
The American public in recent years has been systematically abandoning traditional media -- magazines, newspapers, television, even movies. The only things that reliably raise news ratings are war or political scandal.
If Biden wins, then Trump leaves, and the media will be forced to investigate all the Biden family scandals in order to prop up their ratings. The only way Joe could hope to distract them is by starting a war, and that might not even work.

I can't find them now, but I've seen several threads here recently demanding the return of civics classes, requiring passing a civics test to graduate high school, and most extreme, denying all American-born persons citizenship status at birth, conferring it only upon passing a civics test at age 18.
I say NO. Making American-born people (offspring of legal citizens) pass a test to acquire their citizenship is the wet dream of the left. If such a law is ever passed, the left will control the test just as they control the school system. They will rewrite the test to measure wokeness and virtue-signaling, not civics, and ensure that conservatives will be denied citizenship, denied employment, denied travel, and "un-personed" just like the social credit system in China and Orwell's 1984.
When a faction is in ascendance, it invariably creates new powers to increase its influence, in hope of maintaining dominance. George W. Bush's Patriot Act is one example of this. When it was passed, many cheered the defeat of terror, but the wise feared how this new power might be utilized for ill by later administrations.
This is why the goal should instead be to keep government small and transparent. Most people assume their authority is eternal, and forget that the powers they create for themselves will later fall into the opposition's hands.
This is an error made on both sides of the political fence, but conservatives seem to be more prone to it because conservatives are positive and try to see the best in people. Positivity and faith are admirable traits, but it is important to guard against naïveté.
The left relies on that naïveté. The right tells itself "maybe when they see their system can only result in collapse, they will learn better", and "if we give in to this one demand, maybe they will be pacified". Decades have shown that every time the right accedes, the left merely increases its demands tenfold.
The left would like nothing better than to drive true patriots from their homeland.
They have taken enough. Do not give them our citizenship as well.
