I totally get you. I agree that this is about compliance, not science. For me, the hard line is mandatory vaccines. That's a firm "hell, no" for me. Gun confiscation has always been the same.
For masks, I struggle in more ways than one. Ideologically, it's a gross violation of my bodily autonomy. Emotionally, it's kind of triggering because it reminds me of past abuse. (I'm not a helpless wreck, but it's not good for my blood pressure.) But practically, I know I can be fined for non-compliance. I thought I was safe enough just flouting the order and pulling it down. But if I'm going to be harassed either way, I may have to start claiming an exemption and threatening discrimination when they ask what the exemption is. I'm honestly not quite there yet, but I may get there soon.

They make me furious. I live in a cucked state with a statewide mandate. If I'm not at work (where I would be fired for not wearing a face diaper when other people are in my lobby,) I go around with the thing under my nose so I can breathe. Got harassed at a grocery store last week because of it. I did make the harraser repeat himself about twenty times before I acknowledged him, though. And I refused to pull the mask up anyway.

Yep. You're right. There is no convincing most of these people. I wouldn't be talking to them if I weren't a receptionist. (People confuse receptionists with therapists sometimes, and it's hard to turn them away when there's very little traffic in the office.) I hope they'll wake up to common sense one day, though.

The biggest redpill I can possibly give him without giving myself away is to question the accuracy of the media's fear mongering. That's why I'm asking. I can see why this could look like shilling, though.
