I lived in Florida during the Zimmerman case. Can confirm that the first time I ever heard of BLM was leading up to the trial.
There were DEFINITELY BLM protests in Sanford, FL.
I always associated the creation of BLM as being started through the members of the Benjamin Crump Law Firm. He was their promoter and got them interviews, etc.
When Ferguson happened, Crump was there immediately, BLM was there immediately, and rioting started immediately.
That's my memory of events.
