I never said Chiang was Marxist. I said the KMT was restructured under Soviet / Leninist ideals. Read any book on the history of KMT. Chiang certainly governed like a Leninist. Ask my grandparents and parents who were persecuted under his rule. Several of my dad's friends were "vanished" in the middle of the night for speaking out against the KMT. But I'll give Chiang credit for preserving Chinese culture.
Chiang Kai-shek wasn't "right wing." Most Westerners don't realize that the KMT was restructured to be similar to the Soviet communist party under the guidance of Soviet advisors. Chiang studied political and military strategy in Soviet Russia and employed a Leninist style of governance. He is closer to a communist dictator. The fact that he fought against the CCP doesn't make him a right winger.
Lin Wood isn't telling people not to vote per se. He's saying we need to fix the system before people vote again or the results will be fraudulent. He's attacking this issue from a different angle than the Trump team. Trump is rallying the Georgia base to show whereas Lin is inciting them to put pressure on fixing the system.

Little known fact: KMT was organized around Leninist principles. The founder of KMT (Sun Yat-Sen) thought their party was too weak and asked Soviet Russia to help them restructure. Chiang actually trained under the Soviets. Chiang's son studied in Russia and had a Russian wife. My dad always said that the KMT were commies posing as anti-commies.
Taiwan got lucky that Chiang's son wasn't a hardliner like his dad. And we had someone like a Taiwanese Gorbachev (Lee Teng-Hui) who sabotaged KMT from within to democratize the country. The current KMT = old guards that want to regain power at all costs even if it means kowtowing to China. DPP = nationalist, center-left party (imagine MAGA combined with labor reforms and human rights advocacy)

I'm Taiwanese (born and bred), so I know what I'm talking about. Did you read my explanation in the provided link? Yes, at one time the KMT believed they were the rightful government of China and wanted to retake the mainland but that pipe dream died in the 70s (after the world chose to recognize CCP China). Nobody, including the most ardent KMT supporters, hold the belief they're the legit govt of China now. Note that the KMT and 外省人 who fled to Taiwan in 1949 comprised only 10% of the Taiwanese population. Most of the native Taiwanese (those who lived on the island since the 1600s) considered the KMT invaders and didn't want to be ruled by them. In fact, they much preferred the Japanese rule. The KMT and 外省人 have always looked to mainland China as their true home. As such, they have no allegiance to Taiwan and would rather sell-out to the CCP to obtain power.
Some Taiwanese (particularly the KMT and their supporters) are pro-CCP and want to re-unify with China.

Yeah, top-tier KMT are definitely in the pockets of CCP. Their last presidential candidate, Han Kuo-Yu was a China puppet through and through. China spent tens of millions influencing the 2020 Taiwan election but still failed. It also helps that Taiwan uses paper ballots instead of Dominion.

Just a little background: the KMT lost to the communists in the Chinese Civil War and retreated to Taiwan in 1949. Chiang Kai-Shek (KMT leader) seized control of the island, imposed martial law, terrorized the natives, and ruled Taiwan with an iron fist under a one-party dictatorship. Look up "White Terror." My grandparents and parents, who lived through this period, said life for the native Taiwanese was straight out of Orwell's "1984." Speaking out against the govt would literally get you vanished in the middle of the night.
KMT's power gradually eroded after Chiang Kai-Shek's death and Taiwan held its first democratic election in 1996. A new party, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), rose up to challenge the KMT. Since then, the DPP has provided two presidents including the current one. The DPP is anti-CCP and favors Taiwan independence. Nearly 60% of the Taiwanese voted DPP in the last election. KMT, on the other hand, favors re-unifying with the mainland because their goal from the start has always been one China. The KMT is miffed that they're no longer the ruling party and they're willing to trade Taiwan's freedom to regain that power under CCP. In sum, they're fucking traitors. Elaine's parents are KMT. I didn't mean to get emotional. I'm Taiwanese. Since the 1970s, the US and most of the world have cut off diplomatic ties to Taiwan to appease the CCP. Pompeo's statement is an indirect way of saying we recognize Taiwan as a sovereign state and won't kowtow to the CCP anymore. In my mind, it means Trump is confident about not leaving office.
