This. If you want to practice law in Michigan you must go to an accredited university and pay a sticker price of 150k tuition alone, plus living expenses for about three years. You can work and try to reduce that as you go to school but it is a rigorous program so work is usually frowned upon. I happened to get through with with scholarships and loans and only ended up 50k in debt. Which is minimal since most law grads have 200k+ in debt.

You think they'll care? It's been obvious that a cop executed an unarmed Ashley Babbitt by shooting her in the neck. They don't care. Leftists is evil becuase the rules they want for themselves don't apply to their enemies. The cops could have napalmed then Jan 6th protestors and the leftists would cheer on police brutality.

Honestly it's pretty unique circumstances, he would likely have a good self defense or defense of others claim as well. Bringing charges (at least for the assault) would be just as much of am injustice as it was for kyle. Although he should be tried for carrying a illegal weapon concealed.

Didn't the judge state that any verdict wouldn't be read til at least an hour after it was announced?

How the fuck you let them go home early? They should be made to stay til 10pm and figure it the fuck out.

I think the judge has stated it would be at least and hour before they announce a verdict after they are notified of having one.

Judges decide questions of law, juries decide questions of fact. It's a subtle difference sometimes but there is a difference. So in your case of workers comp, a judge is responsible for deciding WHAT the criteria is, the jury decides if the claim meets the criteria. The other comment of a jury of your peers is a good reason why we do this. Also note, jury's aren't a requirement, you have a right to have one but you can waive that right and have a bench trial where a judge decides both the law and the facts.

I don't care about their existence. They'll be more likely to be reasonable when it actually becomes uncomfortable for them to be there.

They should order the jury to deliberate until 2am if they cant decide. Letting them come in for a few hours a day and go home is bullshit.

I wish people would stop talking about precedence. District court juries don't set precedence, they judge facts, nothing in their role sets precedence that is curable for anything.

Honestly? Yeah it kind of is. Pay is pretty shit compared to almost all of the private sector jd jobs.

Even the dumbest juror alive would see through that bullshit. Binger is such a douchebag.

If isn't mistrialing on that already then he certainly isn't going to use it to overturn a verdict on such a public case. There is no reason to let this go to jury if you believe that misconduct was so prejudicial it should be a mistrial. There's no way he takes the verdict out after the jury makes it. Rittenhouse will likely win on appeal but they could still find the misconduct harmless (doubtful as there's nothing indisputable about this case)

If the judge didn't already declare it on the grounds he certainly wont overturn a verdict on those same grounds.
