You feel disconnected from the wider galaxy. Hosnian Prime was blown up but we didn’t even get the context of ‘it’s the burthplace of this character we like. Be sad because she’s sad’
The setting they built with the republic was so good.
And the politics was really needed for a complex plot of intrigue. You know who the factions were, you knew why they were fighting, you knew what was going on.
Didney trilogy had no politics, and everything was boring and disjointed. Why is there such a smal resistance? Are these the ONLY people fighting the first order? Wait, all this is happening over the course of like a month? Who’s funding who? What is happening!?
