Dude the Jedi were extremist freaks who's belief of non attachment and not developing any feelings of emotion created freaking mentally screwed up individuals. It wasn't about controlling or learning to deal with emotions in a positive way. It was flat out suppress, ignore, and pretend the don't exist.
Anakin was a victim. The Jedi never taught him how to handle emotions and didn't give him any love or affection and so when his mom freaking died in his arms and he felt emotions like any normal human would, he didn't know how to deal with them and he went off the deep end and killed everyone.
Then Palpatine showed him the closest thing to love he had since his mom when he was little and he ate it up like any human would. Then he saw windu about to kill someone he loved and he knew they were breaking the law and about to kill someone he loved so he became convinced they were the actual bad guys.
People have this naive view of the Jedi, but under yoda they were extremely screwed up. Everyone's ideal version of jedi are the grey jedi where you have emotion, but you are in control of it. Yoda's version was that you suppress it and never learn to actually deal with it other than push it aside. Then, if you ever do actually feel human emotion you are completely unprepared for how to deal with it and you are screwed up as an individual. Yoda sucked and his system deserved to pass away all in the plot to bring balance back to the force. It wasn't just the sith that were screwed up. The Jedi were too and both needed to go for there to be balance back to the force. Did you miss the whole point of the series?
