Man, all presidents in my lifetime have been played the same way by congress on these bills. They push time limits and hold presidents hostage. Trump is no different. They got him. Sooner you see that the better.
The only thing that really bugs me is his pushing of the vaccines and using it as his reasoning for signing this particular bill. The cure is worse than the “disease.” It’s the common cold and there is no cure. He’s paving the way for permanent cycles of lockdowns and vaccinations.
I’ve watched every step and every word this man has pumped out in his 5 years as a politician. He’s no dictator and has a soft spot for things that remove his ability to make certain hard decisions. If we don’t open for business, he will have helped the decline by perpetuating the need to stay in a form of permanent lockdowns.
Only takes a simple majority, unfortunately.
It’s in a different bill which he vetoed. Tomorrow they are voting to override his veto.
He’s not fighting in the manner you believe. He is pushing the vaccines and the fear of covid by doing so.
He has also used the coof as his justification for signing this bill to “help Americans” instead of simply calling for civil disobedience as we open our businesses and take off the face diapers.
They’re voting on the things he is hoping to get. Like the 2000 bucks and the section 230 revision.
Redlining means absolutely nothing to Congress. They can deny his request. They can vote immediately on a rescission bill and fuck up the whole thing. The outcome is the bill he signed is law regardless.
He could have pocket vetoed. He could have forced a stand alone bill for 2000 and ppp and unemployment.
He could have stopped pushing the fucking vaccine as if the common cold is reason enough to shutdown the entire American economy thereby “needing” to sign this shit bill.
Stay tuned, though. I’m sure he has a plan. Kek
Bullshit. He’s framing the signing as a positive thing when in reality he was played by congress just like every other president before him.
Pocket veto. Hold on to that shit as long as possible.
Look, $600 bucks is what we will end up with and all the pork will not be removed. All the PPP bullshit could be fixed by opening for business.
The bottom line is, he has fallen for this common cold nonsense and believes we should be locked down, thereby needing to pass this horseshit bill to help Americans.
You wanta help Americans? Let them be Americans. M
They will vote on whether or not to do those things. None of it will pass.
“should be rescinded”
Not ‘shall be‘ rescinded. You got played and are pretending that you did it for Americans as if $600 bucks will do anyone any good.
Tomorrow, they will vote down your requests and once again we will be left wondering why you have gone along with a bill you said you’d never sign like that again.
Plus, the vaccines aren’t our savior nor panacea. Open this fucking country for business. Anything less is a bandaid when we need stitches. January 6th means nothing anymore because the value in attendance is lost.
What you say is fighting for American families is actually maintaining the status quo. Warp speed is bullshit, covid is a common cold, and all your doing is perpetuating the need to remain shutdown.
I’m over it. I’m not holding the line or staying tuned. I’m moving forward as if even you, the hardest working president we’ve ever had, simply couldn’t break the mold.
All this nonsense is politics at its worst and as a taxpayer, I’m livid. Sorry, but I’m done being fucked with and told to use reasoning to remain in the cycle of having my labor stolen by crooked representatives and special interests.
I’m not with you on this one.
That’s the maximum. Maximum time to deal with it.
They can and will deny by vote, with simple majority ,a rescission bill immediately. That move will in turn make the bill he signed the enforced bill including all the shit he tried to redline.
It’s basically a dare to make them show the people that their tax dollars are up for grabs and to be used for all the wrong reasons. If you think congress gives a fuck about optics, well, you’d be wrong.
Tomorrow they will clusterfuck the whole thing and 45 days won’t even be an issue.
If they vote down a new rescission bill, with a simple majority, the bill he signed will be enforced.
They need half a day, at most.
It’s not 45 days. That’s the limit congress has to make a move. Tomorrow they can and will deny the rescission with a simple majority.
Don’t expect $2000 either. That will not pass.
Nah, he’s playing the wrong game. We can’t win through politics. Anything short of a full revolt and opening the country for business is playing their game and it’s un-winnable.
You watch. Tomorrow, our “representatives” will crush the $2000 request and go around his use of the redlining Act. They will never do what’s right for the taxpayer. Never!
Excuse me, but we get fucked with every spending bill is exactly why he shoulda stood his ground.
We are damn near a third world country with a debt bubble that can’t keep getting bigger. Seriously, we basically don’t even have a pot to piss in, but somehow our representatives are stealing the fruits of our labor for their own special interests and foreign lobbyists.
How ‘bout this? Anyone who thinks signing another bill like this is strategic should pay the taxes for those who simply realize it’s an unsustainable ruse.
Fuck this bill and fuck all politicians, top to bottom and left to right.
How he signed a bill with only the promise of a possibility they will review certain aspects is beyond me. There’s nothin’ in the act that makes congress accept his request for changes and deletions.
He’s playing politics still and the only winners are the “representatives” and their foreign lobbyists. So much for tough love. He took the wrong path at a time most of his base is looking for complete commitment to bucking the system.
This won’t help for January 6th as most people won’t even know why the fuck they’re even there.
4D underwater backgammon. Bahahahahaha.
Congress is now in control of the bill. They can sit on it for 45 days, unlikely, or vote on a new rescission bill., likely.
A downvote will mean the bill he already signed is the one enforced.
It’s already submitted. The 45 days is moot to the current situation. They will immediately vote an a new rescission bill. A no vote means the bill he signed is enforced.
They didn’t even want to do the $600.
Just open the country. I can’t afford to take the hit to my business and simultaneously keep paying the taxes that support unemployment and other people’s rent.
Eventually, I’ll also be outta business with no way to collect assistance. It’s an unsustainable cure for the common cold. If we keep this ball rolling, we’ll all be looking to the government for help.
Open up. It’s the only solution.
The 45 days is in congress’s court. They can downvote a new rescission bill immediately. The president can’t do shit if they decide to deny his requests and vote no on a new rescission bill.
They have the alternative of writing a rescission bill with a 12 hour maximum debate limit combined and a simple majority to pass or deny. If they deny, the bill he signed will be enforced.
Actually, I’m conflating the rescission bill with the override. I think they need the 2/3rds majority to override the veto. Don’t doubt they will get it, though.
