No, ignoring means they have to wait out 45 days. They don’t want that. They want money now. They will write and vote down a new bill. Guaranteed

He’s relying on his enemies word. His requests will be denied. They will vote no on a rescission bill and the one he signed will be the one enforced.

If they ignore it, a 45 day clock is the metric. If they write a new rescission bill tomorrow, all they have to do is vote no with a simple majority and the one he signed is enforced.

They don’t need the 45 days. They can write and deny a new bill tomorrow. That will make the bill he already signed the enforced version.

How he missed this I don’t know.

Yes, they are under no obligation to remove the redlines. They can write a new rescission bill and vote no with a simple majority which means the bill he signed will be enforced.

I’m failing to see how he missed this. Whatever he thought this would gain is nothing in reality. Maybe a 12 hour delay at best.

No, he basically signed under the expectation that his sworn enemies will hold to their word.

What he did is in no means rectifiable when congress simply denies a new rescission bill with a simple majority. The shit he signed will be enforced. Pinky swear promises or not.

Nah, he must believe the red lining means something it doesn’t.

The statement is moot. Congress will go around his requests. He can’t demand shit and they have recourse to make the bill he signed enforced.

All they have to do is write and vote down a new rescission bill. By mid day they could have that done and then the shit he already signed will be enforced.

He fucked up.

I just read the process. All they have to do is write a new rescission bill and vote it down.

If they do this, the bill he signed is enforced. Either he read it wrong or he’s trusting the wrong people.

Either he expected the rescissions to be an all or nothing deal, which isn’t true, or he’s trusting the people who are his sworn enemies.

He’s playing politics. They’re playing for keeps.

Ignoring means 45 days. Writing and voting down a new rescission bill would only take hours. In fact, the debate in Congress is limited to 2 hours and just 10 hours for the senate.

He fucked up.

1
Proud_American 1 point ago +1 / -0

Which means they vote on a rescission bill. If they vote no, the bill he signed is enforced.

He done fucked up. They will never pass the redlined version and all they have to do is write a new bill and vote no tomorrow morning then trump has no more ability to revisit the issue.

I read the steps. All congress has to do is vote to deny on a new rescission bill. Once that happens, with a simple majority mind you, the bill he signed will enforced.

1
Proud_American 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep, he basically is making them go through another step of writing and denying a rescission bill. They will have it done in hours and Trump will have forfeited the ability to readdress the issue.

Proud_American 1 point ago +1 / -0

They have to write and pass or deny a rescission bill within 45 days. Guaranteed they will do it in a few hours on Monday morning and then trump will be forced to spend the money as it was written.

Congress will write a rescission bill, not pass it and then trump will be forced to spend the money as it was.

This isn’t what he thought it is, IMO. If you read the process, they have 45 days or they can ram it through. All that is required to quash the redlining is to vote down the rescission bill with a simple majority.

I’m failing to see how this isn’t just signing the bill with an extra step by congress to deny his rescissions.

That was also my first thought. Thing is, they can’t be trusted. There’s no guarantee and no way to get justice if they flake out.

If his demands to remove the pork are simply denied, he will have signed this shit into law and another year of our hard earned dollars will have been grifted by our government.

I dunno. Congress won’t adhere to the redlining. He signed it and they will press their special interests whether illegal or not.

This seems to be a loss at face value.

It appears he has red lined a lot of the spending. Congress will deny the requests and it won’t work out.
