There is no “incorrectly” when it comes to the cloth because the specules of the mask are far bigger than the size of the virus. They are not respirators.
The n95 mask is 95 because it doesn’t stop everything even when used correctly. Besides the fact they basically need to be glued to your face with a seal that’s almost impossible to achieve, they simply don’t stop the tiniest of particles like covid. Furthermore, if you did get a proper fitment, they are only effective if they aren’t touched with your hands after placement due to cross contamination.
Lastly, the n95s surgical mask is slightly better, but even that is a one time use of a few hours before it’s fully contaminated on the outside and inside from your exhaled breath.
Bottom line, touching your face is the worst thing you can do when it comes to contracting a virus. Masks bring your hands to your face hundreds of times a day. It totally goes against decades of knowledge on the subject and is the primary reason people are getting sick more than we would otherwise. The statistics prove it.
