This ruling on the crèche was in like ‘89 and there were already laws in place to keep these displays outside. It had nothing to do with the current climate against Christians.
Anyway, Christians simply took it too far and judged anyone and everything that didn’t follow in their footsteps. They also had problems with far too many priests which turned off a lot of people from the church. Add to that the constant tithing and they simply ran off their base. They certainly couldn’t sell their product to newcomers and lost the culture war to inclusivity. All the good that came with their preaching was simply overshadowed.
Now is a different story. We’ve imported too many people from too many different backgrounds and faiths. It’s a clusterfuck of religions and belief systems all which think they’re better than the next. People aren’t going to suddenly revert to god and Christianity any more than they will to Judaism or Islam. The moral base we need as a race won’t come from religion and that’s a fact. It certainly does appear there’s an effort to “attack” Christianity, but it’s no more apparent than Christianity trying to project its perceived superiority over all other religions. If we are to survive as a people with the freedom to choose and think for ourselves there will have to be common ground between us. The Bible is not that ground, nor is the Torah or Koran.
This is why Christians are fighting a losing battle. There’s simply too many people who don’t follow their faith.
