Just reading your reply: Tollways are private roads. The government has no authority to alter the price of the toll. Toll roads usually are employed when the local and state governments don’t have the resources to build and maintain a highway. The state is part of a contract where the private company is paid via tolls until they are paid back, with profits, at which point the state will re-assume the road and the responsibility.

You’re correct that tolls during high demand times are increased, but that is usually to minimize traffic congestion in an effort to prevent people from simply avoiding the toll road all together.

1. The number of flu cases has always been highly over estimated in an effort to pump the need for a flu vaccine.

2. Just like all the other viruses in the past, covid has pushed out the virus before it by stealing the host with higher contagion and lack of natural immunity within the herd.

Tollways are roads where a loan is being paid back to a private party. Taxes and fees from registrations doesn’t apply to those roads.

Many of these loans have 50 year terms. It’s unlikely a mileage tax would be applicable and would cause a clusterfuck of litigation when trying to double dip drivers for using a private road.
