Not going along to get along has ruined my life (in lots of ways) — but my life has also never been better (in most ways).
I've reaped WAY MORE rewards (without writing a book about it) than I've lost.
If I didn't have the balls to stand up to people who are flat out wrong I would not be where I am today. I'd be miserable, making 1/4 the money I have now, and while I may have "more friends" none of them would be real.
When you are firm in your beliefs you'll always know who your real friends are.
Believe it or not, she put herself mostly through school completely on her own. I help out on occasion and I am there for her to talk to.
My parents held my hand way too much when I was transitioning into adulthood and it caused me a lot more problems than it solved. I won't be the same way with my kids.
There's nothing I can take away from her that would be significant enough for her to care.

This may have gone off-track a bit with the comments but the point I am making is I am SEEING A SHIFT in how people are reacting toward Trump supporters and the conservatives, and it is NOT what the media is telling you.
I find myself getting more and more surprised by how many people are NOT falling for the bullshit and who agree with me when I throw out "cool tests" to see which side people are on (without showing my own cards).
Very true. I have found over the years that the more ridiculous and smart-assed I am in my profile that the number of responses goes WAY down, but the quality of responses goes way up.
I am always a big smart-ass when talking to a new girl because it tends to weed out an uptight one within 3 or 4 texts max. Sometimes I can drive them away with that single first text.
For example, I might say "Now that we both swiped right, does this mean we should plan the honeymoon?" — and I've had some women get SUPER ANGRY about that.

For almost 25 years I've done nothing but lose friends trying to wake people up as to what's going on. Whether it's telling people how the government lied about TWA Flight 800, 9/11 was an inside job, false flag shootings, cancel culture, you name it.
I pretty much lost my entire family, my career, I've been ostracized to the point I have 2 real friends left in the world and I can't keep a relationship to save my life. At this point I know it's my fault.
About 5 years ago, I moved out to the middle of nowhere and started preparing for what's happening now. I completely stopped giving a crap about trying to "wake up people" and all that and just focused inward. I pulled the plug on ALL social media, including LinkedIn and just wiped every trace from the internet that I could.
My photography business is at a standstill because I refuse to participate in social media anymore. I just decided I am finished playing along. I could see the writing on the wall years ago and I already sacrificed my livelihood, friends, and family over this shit. ENJOY THE CAMPS!
Overall things have been much better since I walked away from it all. I cannot go a single day without a message from above thrown in front of my face that I made the right choices. I am in a very good position to take care of my kids and protect us from whatever happens next due to moves I made well before this got real.

But all that did was cause MORE nurses to match with me so they could argue with me and tell me what an asshole I am. I've never met a nurse who wasn't a complete bitch so that's one profession I will not date under any circumstances.
Agreed. I have changed things around and experiment with certain things. I have some "first texts" that I use over and over because I've refined it enough I can weed out a bad match in 3 messages or less.
It's fine if you end up excluding 98% of the people out there if you find the 2% that you bond with.
I am not protecting myself from being hurt. I am saving myself from having to spend any of my time weeding out someone who's a bad match for me. I had more subtle ways of doing it which worked. I've had some good relationships out of that which didn't pan out in the long run. I am not angry, just sharing a handy tip.
I'm not really a Republican or a Democrat. I am one of those people who have my own opinions (which makes me unsuitable for Twitter OR these so-called free speech apps which I have ALSO been banned from).
