Can confirm. I had a similar situation. The girl seemed nice enough, but she was a snake who was constantly looking to undermine and sabotage everyone. She took a productive team, and turned them into cliquey silos that all hated each other. It was like a tumor that metastasized rapidly. All she cared about was gossip, and actively sought it out. She would seek to befriend everyone in the organization to get info out of them to be deployed later. She would lie and manipulate constantly and this was like her energy source. I have never seen anything like it before, or since (thankfully).

There is a certain amount of intellectual arrogance within the liberal elite that ties into their narcissistic personality disorder. That is, they are highly educated and believe themselves to be smarter than all of their peers, to the point that they are unable to fathom the possibility that they could ever be wrong. However, this is more of a pseudo intellectualism as it is devoid of any critical introspection, in which one would have to take ownership of their faults. Therefore, when they are wrong, they would rather construct an artificial scenario in which they are right and ascribe this as truly being reality, and your perception of the facts are actually wrong because they don't apply to this artificial reality that they created as a pretext to further their narrative. This is why they can hold such extreme cognitive dissonance because they have created a subjective reality that ignores facts that would disprove their own thoughts, hence why they love the term "my truth" and not "the truth", as the former can be subjectively interpreted while the latter must be objectively interpreted.

Yeah, I have a friend in tech and he tells me about the "untouchables" basically mid-level employees with titles and salaries well above their ability and instead of doing their actual job are given entry level assignments or other menial tasks in the hope that they don't fuck too much up. Eventually these people leave for other companies to the tune of more money and even better titles (in tech these people are essentially unicorns, so companies throw money at them constantly) and the cycle repeats.
