Google trends uses an ‘interest index’. The box below the chart attempts to clarify the method. It is difficult to interpret this index because true search volume is not available to me.
But the chart by and large propagates that for instance: CNN has lost 550 index points as opposed to Fox in 50 states. 550/50=11. On average CNN had 11% less searches in 2020 compared to FOX than in 2016.
This chart portrays a general picture that left MSM is losing significant ground (and is limited to this conclusion).

I agree.
I think there is an overall loss in interest of MSM.
I think, however, that non theDonald visitors see fox as a conservative outlet and will vote Rep based on the news FOX propagates.
Also: Fox has not gained as much as CNN has lost. This also hints at a left demoralization/deradicalazation.
Thoughts?
I agree it can be considered lib leaning / controlled opposition. Still hell of a lot better that CNN.
Based on a much broader analysis, comparing about 40 outlets (20 left leaning and 20 right leaning) it is staggeringly clear that a major shift has occurred.
I can upload to GitHub if interested.
