Look up "mask mouth." Its being pretty widely discussed. You're literally trapping bacteria in your mouth when you wear a mask.

I'm speaking of cloth & surgical masks. Those are what 99% of the public are wearing. Those masks exist to block out allergens, pollen, bacteria.....not viruses.

EDIT: And those plastic face shields. They do nothing to prevent viral spread.

The idea a piece of cloth could prevent the transmission of an aerosolized virus is so incredibly ludicrous. It really is. Probably the most harmful aspect to all of the mask propaganda is that those who are vulnerable to complications are unknowingly being placed at risk of exposure due to the belief that masks provide adequate protection against the virus. I'd be willing to bet that a very large number of vulnerable people have contracted Covid-19 simply because they were misled into believing that masks offer enough protection to avoid spread while out in public. Had they known that masks don't actually offer much of any protection to anyone, I suspect those vulnerable people would've been MUCH less inclined to place themselves at risk by going out in public or inviting guests into their home.

OP, please understand that your mask is about as good at preventing the spread of Covid as a cardboard-helmet is at preventing skull damage from a sledgehammer. The defense it provides to yourself and others is so incredibly marginal (at best) that it would have no impact on the person-to-person spread of the virus.

Just say that you have a medical exemption. Most businesses, at least around my area, have been instructed not to push any further after that.

I think this woman has just gotten fed up with the whole charade. I agree that minimal engagement is the best approach to mask bullies, but its clear that the woman in the video had just been pushed too far by the ridiculousness of it all. She said what she needed to say and now I'm sure every one who witnessed that will think twice about confronting the next person.

Everyone who wants to reopen should be permitted to do so without any restrictions in place. Those who are fearful of the virus should stay at home and not place themselves at risk by participating in public life. Its really not that difficult of a concept.

The jackasses who wear a mask while driving alone in their car deserve some special kind of award for stupidity. I see it all the time here. Windows rolled up with a mask on. Who are they trying to protect?
