It's been getting refined since it came on strong in the barnett shale in north texas and pennsylvania in the early 2000s. 97% of the wells fracked in the permian and eagleford shale are well over 3000 feet deep, well below the aquifer table.

Now don't get me wrong I'm not one of those drill baby drill no matter the consequences people, the oil field just fell in my lap, but I learned a ton of ins and outs the average person doesn't ever get to see or hear about. Fracking still has a ton of room to improve still but it has improved since the fiascos that occured in the early days of it's mass use.

And an out right ban on fracking with out other industries ready to take on new personal would put tens of thousands out of well paying jobs. Not just the actual fracking crews and support positions, but the sand mining and truck drivers. Just around the midland/odessa area there are like 6-8 huge sand mining operations, the eagleford shale area in south texas has 2 or 3, and wisconsin of all places has quite a few mining the white sand up there.

You would think, but 75% of new exploration has been on the New Mexico side of the basin. Even before the crash in March the Texas side of the basin was getting the bare minimum of investment on infrastructure.

It's embedded in our culture, especially if your family has been here for 13 generations like mine has. My family helped establish San Antonio De Bexar in ~1731, fought voluntarily in the American revolution, fought in the Texas revolution and was the personal doctor to Sam Houston, and served in many positions for the San Antonio local government for decades.

We'll let the Okies follow only if we can have our panhandle back, we're coming for the rest all the way up to Wyoming.

Hopefully I end up going back to the permian basin sometime soon. Got furloughed back in March and been waiting on the go call ever since. But it's how the oil field works.

Well here in Texas DFW and a large percentage of the houston area is reliant on the trinity river, which is entirely inside of Texas. West texas is largely aquifer fed. Other rivers that flow through Texas are major rivers, and if someone say tried to cut them off upstream somewhere it would be a monumental task to under take.

We also have our own power grid which also supplies the eastern part of NM, but that's not a huge deal. But we are one of the largest producers of alternative energy, between turbines, solar and nuclear.

Texas also has multiple gulf coast ports, including houston which is something like the 4th largest, and the majority of petroleum refining capacity in the United States, with an economy which is just behind that of california, which by itself would be in the top 10 largest in the world.

Texas going back to being the Republic of Texas is much more doable than people really realize.

I don't know what part of Texas you're in, but north of dallas and even the northern part of dallas county has literally nothing closed at all, hell half the places I go don't even have any B.S. signs up anywhere.

Abbott isn't in charge of any lock downs youre experiencing, he's left all that up to local government like it should be.

Yeah, but look at all the teams he ruined after auburn. Like Texas Tech, cincinnati, ect. He really went down hill after leaving auburn.

Tuberville seems likes he's gonna be a whole lot better senator than he was a football coach. I was worried he be just as shitty when he announced he was gonna run for the seat.

got a 1989 4Runner with a toyota 2UZFE V8 swap with a solid axle swap on 37s, a 2004 4Runner with a 3.5" long travel lift and 35's, and a 1995 LandCruiser with a LQ4 6.0 V8 swap that long traveled on 35's.

i should be able to get around if shit goes sideways along with my small arsenal of rifles, hand guns and shotguns and all of my camping/backpacking equipment.

we also have Raytheon, L3, Qurvo, bell helicopter, and a good amount of the US's oil refinery capacity and one of the largest ports too.

Hell I'm surprised John Cornyn didn't happily sign his name on the front page of that shit. I can't name one good thing he's ever done as a senator, and he's been one for the majority of my life or atleast it feels that way.

Hopefully someone has the balls to actually challenge home when his seat comes up again.
