And that just happened to coincide with an exegesis that's well known as a real problem verse for people with your position.

Go ahead, call me a fool again, spout nonsense about nobs and farts if you must, but I'll keep asking you for a single exegesis.

Why not just exegete it?

Since when does a Christian resort to spouting silliness about farts and insults rather than actually standing up for the correct interpretation of scripture?

You've asserted you can exegete all day, but the very first time you're asked to, you balk.

Revelation 20:10 ESV "and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

Annihilationism is excluded by the Bible.

Come on, just exegete it.

I've given up. If you want, you could get Hitler's speeches; you'd way rather do anything than look at the original content. You stormfront refugees are full of self serving crap.

Yeah, it's no endorsement of forgiveness when he prescribes praying to be forgiven just as we forgive others, and tells parables about how those who don't forgive will be damned. Got it. This is like leftists with 'the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed'. The text says one thing, but you want the opposite enough that somehow you get it, in defiance of plain English.

Exegete that sentence or concede.

Read_Your_Bible 0 points ago +1 / -1

That's going to happen, and it will be glorious. But note who does the slaying. If you won't forgive, you're going to be on the other team.

But go ahead, ignore the teaching out of Jesus's mouth entirely. You know way better than him. "If you will not forgive others trespasses, nor will the Father forgive yours.". Case closed.

You do eisegesis, not exegesis. Judas simply isn't worse off than not having existed in your worldview. The whole point of annihilationism is that you've decided God mustn't make anyone worse off than non existence. It's a philosophical argument in scriptural drag. (At least you aren't a universalist though...you guys are legit Christians at least some of the time, maybe even most of the time).

But ok, leave Judas for a second. Exegete this sentence:

The devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

In an annihilationist way. See that verb torment?

There's no loophole here. You can wiggle out of eternal punishment, maybe, but this is an explicit description of ECT.

You will likewise perish and burn in hell unless you repent, godless one.

It's not a non sequitir. The local context of that passage suggests that Jesus is being entirely matter of fact about it, as he has been in the whole discourse. Furthermore, there are three other biblical comparisons to nonborns/ stillborns (Job, Psa 58, Ecc), and they're all extremely negative.

But why am I bothering? You claimed it wasn't in the text, but as soon as you discovered it was, then suddenly it was inconsequential.

Just like the very straightforward description of Satan and co being in torment day and night forever. (Because that's how you describe a quick annihilation, apparently).

Here's the interlinear. See that Greek word there for born? The bit about being a traitor is the previous sentence. You got lied to, friend. It's in the text.

You can see the footage on Rumble or even Youtube. For a fulltime Nazi, you've got a pathetic knowledge of what your hero actually said. Stop being a leftist and watch the video.

And btw: 1st hand recounts from my grandparents, from their invaded and poorly treated neutral country.

The Nazis were anti Christian. Rosenberg: Jesus hating pagan. Bormann: Jesus hating pagan. Goebbels: Jesus hating atheist. Himmler: Jesus hating deist. Hitler: Jesus and Old Testament hating deist. Preferred Islam and lamented that Jesus wasn't right for his Aryan nation.

They ran the Kirchenkampf, and planned to remove the Bible in favour of Mein Kampf.

They invaded the neutral countries of my ancestors and ended their national sovereignty. The Nazis sucked and the only good thing about them (aside from good roads), is the eternal smoke that they're going to emit when the day of Judgement comes and Jesus puts them into the lake of fire.

You going to rationalise eliminating the Bible and hating on Jesus too?

We have plenty of space, btw. The white population isn't growing. Without mass immigration, we'd be in steady state.

Empires suck. Nation states with sovereignty and sensible borders are awesome.

  1. You can't explain why Satan and co will be tormented day and night forever, then, can you? Most of the verses about the lake of fire are ambiguous, but that's eternal conscious torment, whether you like it or not.

  2. Death in this world is removed along with the rest of this world. The second death remains. If you don't get eternal life, you get second death. Perfectly coherent.

  3. Btw: how is Judas worse off than not having been born, if God gives him a clean death? If he's annihilated, why would we care about what we say?

Just keep reminding him that atheists and agnostics vote for socialism 80% of the time in the US and have since Obama, and ask him to explain why his beliefs are so strongly correlated with socialism. He has no good answer, and runs away.

OK.

People that reject Him vote for socialism and wokeness 80% of the time. Atheists are the single most left wing demographic. Agnostics are similar.

If God wasn't real, not believing in Him would be correlated with good critical thinking. It's not.

I say hell is real and eternal. For instance: "Revelation 20:10 ESV and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.".

Or:

"Matthew 25:45-46 ESV Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' [46] And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Or:

"Matthew 26:24 ESV The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born."

The lake of fire is the second death.

"Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us". You're either an unbeliever or blind to that you are now asking God to burn you in hell every time you pray the Lord's prayer.

Re: Milton, Paradise Lost Book X finishes with Adam and Eve concluding that if they repent, God's mercy is sure.

That's because Milton was a huge fan of: Romans 5:7-8 ESV For one will scarcely die for a righteous person-though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die- [8] but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

And

Matthew 18:21-35 ESV Then Peter came up and said to him, "Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?" [22] Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. [23] "Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. [24] When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. [25] And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. [26] So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.' [27] And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. [28] But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, 'Pay what you owe.' [29] So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you.' [30] He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. [31] When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. [32] Then his master summoned him and said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. [33] And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?' [34] And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. [35] So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart."

OP, you don't know what you're talking about re: chlorine.

Chlorides are what you get after chlorine (or chlorine containing oxidising agents) break down. Chlorine will dissolve your lungs at high concentration, and it and many similar compounds are bleaches. Chloride is what the sea (and your stomach) is full of. It does not melt your face off.

You confusing the two and ignoring concentration makes you hard to take seriously.

And 5 parts per million of chlorine - which is the legal limit in water - is just not the same as concentrated chlorine gas or bleach.

Also, RO only came in since 2000. Chlorination has been around since 1900 or so. Don't get me wrong, RO's great, but it surely is NOT 'how we used to do it'.
