Exactly, the sales rep on my final call with them was trying to sell me on the moral benefits of solar. (I guess ignoring the future impact of the materials they're made from.) When I told him I couldn't see any ROI, he basically confirmed that was true.

I had an assessment done this past summer for my house. In the end we opted to not go with it because the loan payments would be virtually the same as our current power bill, and the loan term was basically the same as the expected lifespan of the panels. Basically, there was no benefit other than potentially evening out the seasonal variations in energy costs. ... However, with POTATUS killing our energy independence, it might've been more cost effective in the long run.
