January 6th WAS a peaceful protest for 99% of us there. We were an enormous crowd, over a million strong. Really, FBI, if we had wanted to trash the capital, it would not be standing. Imagine a million furious patriots, if we had come armed and ready for violence. We could've damn near tore down every building in the vicinity before you could've stopped us.
That didn't happen because we came for a peaceful protest. This is born out by the fact that not many cops with tear gas were able to drive us out.

Well honestly, those of us in the crowd outside had no idea anyone had been killed. Someone told me that right before we left. Most of us couldn't get online, we were in the dark during the whole thing. My sister was texting me updates, but those didn't all come thru. Phone calls didn't even always work. It felt like a rally on the south side. Until the tear gas started dropping, that is.
