I had one with the barrel cut down to 20”. It kicked harder than any rifle I have ever shot. The only thing comparable was the 155mm cannon I used to shoot in the army.
With a 20” barrel it’s not loud, It’s terrifying. It makes your ears ring despite earplugs.
With a 20” barrel it feels like getting kicked by a mile every time you press the trigger.
These have a 4” barrel.
A common misconception is that soldiers shouldn’t ever fire on US Civilians; like it’s part of the enlistment oath or something.
Frankly, if you are authorized to use deadly force to guard something; citizenship status doesn’t enter the equation. If I’m guarding something and authorized to use deadly force; and you try to take that something, you get shot, regardless of your citizenship status.
My experience working for the VA (VHA) for almost a decade has been that we have great homeless programs for Vets but many don’t want to participate in them. We require things like sobriety and not using hard drugs while in VA provided housing programs.
I’ve heard numerous homeless Veterans say they refuse to go to the one homeless shelter in our region because they require sobriety to use their services. You can’t keep staying at the shelter if you keep showing up intoxicated.
I’ve heard numerous homeless Veterans say they have refused to live in VA provided housing because they have to stay off illegal drugs to do so.
Ive also known personally many Vets who have used these programs successfully and transitioned into employment and stable living situations.
The harsh truth is that for whatever reason, there is a significant portion of the homeless population that will prefer to remain homeless. Some people get some kind of secondary gain by being homeless and will not use the resources available to them for whatever reason.
Sturgis was so lame this year without live music in most places. Walking into the concert area at Iron Horse just to discover the music wasn’t live was tied for the second lowest moment for me in recent Sturgis rallies.
The other was when Loud American couldn’t melt cheese in a microwave after two tries.
Different state NGs often have mutual agreements to support each other.
