It's because this pandemic is like the guy in Indiana Jones waving his sword around at Indiana looking formidable and intimidating. The left understands hypocrisy. They just don't care because they know the media or any other major public influencer will not hold them accountable. The useful idiot leftists believe they're immune because their cause is just. The leftists in power are more pragmatic and don't really believe in good or bad from a moral perspective. There's just actions that gain them power and actions that lose them power. They'll be hypocritical 24/7 as long as they believe it'll gain them power or at the very least not lose it.
Because it seems the cop talk in black families can be different. I'd imagine that while they give the whole comply and not do anything aggressive (to simplify), they also add "because the cop is most likely a racist pos that's looking for an excuse to harm you".
That mixed with a rebellious bravado acquired from ghetto culture raises the chances that the cop talk emboldens them to resist rather than comply.

This virus is having a bigger reset than people think. Families are learning they can get by on a single income. They're learning that their kids are doing better not only with at least one parent home, but that they seem to be learning better too. They're finding this situation to be far more fulfilling and wondering why they need to even send their kids to a school that doesn't seem to be doing much for them.
And the leftists hate it because it strengthens the family and helps break their grip on culture.
I've done enough data modeling on far simpler things to know that the difference between hypothetical and actual can be quite severe due to unforeseen and truly unpredictable factors. High probability isn't certainty and even the smallest uncertainty can have a drastic impact on the results.
No matter how smart these people seem to be, it's always dangerous should the recommendation defy common sense.
I'm not sure it's a means to tank the economy. I'm more inclined to believe the virus is giving many government bodies at various levels the opportunity to control their people in ways that aren't acceptable outside of an "emergency". The economic setback is just a symptom of this control.
Using the fear of the virus, it's been seen that just about anything can get shut down. In the US this is mostly happening at a state and local level. The state and local level is also where voter fraud is occurring. Not saying this control is directly election related more than just pointing out lower levels of government can be quite corrupt and partisan.
The telltale sign of if this control is indeed a power grab will be how long the media drags out this crisis and if this control is relaxed back to normal levels once the crisis recedes. I figure if we're still on high panic by the time summer rolls around then something is definitely going on.
It really really bugs them when we do things that remind them that they have zero authority over the USA.
