So let's do it. I got my first serious professional job during Trump's presidency. I suffered so much under Obama and I'm hard-working and intelligent. No reason I had to suffer that much. The day before Biden got elected I moved the majority of my money into cryptocurrency. Fuck the banks. I am serious. These states should NOT enforce the orders and should send the NG to protect the pipeline. Move their money as u/Patriot_Lettuce says. Prepare for the fact that they are going to fuck you. What is the federal government going to do, send the army after us? This is the hill to die on. There have been many revolutions in history and it ALWAYS happens when the military splits. We are at that point.
We are all like the two old guys in the balcony watching the muppet show and not believing what we are looking at.
omg lmao this needs to be a new meme
I think we are living through a period of hysteria. People have been driven insane by the media.
Add to this that I personally think Trump won all the contested states. He improved his margins considerably in the swing states he won last time. I really think more people woke up and BLM just flat out cheated in the cities.
Because the victim is male. Sorry but if you're the wrong sex/color in this world you don't have rights.
PLEASE STOP POSTING ON STREAMABLE!!!
I know many feel that way but the fact is many people already un-registered as Republican. We did take back the Republican party--and they kicked us out.
Almost half of Oklahoma is Indian land now, too. It was a Supreme Court case this year; one of the many crazy things that barely got covered because of Covid hysteria.
Hey I did read this, thanks for typing it out. But because we just moved to the new domain, I wasn't able to click on the links for any of your comments. They didn't work. If you go through and add new links, I will click through and read them.
You bring up a lot of good points and I'll look into the external sources you shared like Ashwander rules (what the fuck??) and Spirit of the Law which is absolutely something I'd normally be interested in reading.
But as things currently stand, these have become little more than a curiosity to me as it increasingly feels like we are playing a made-up game where the points don't matter. I just got through re-reading the constitution and it is painfully obvious we don't follow it anymore. There are clear precepts in it that are just outright ignored.
If you do go through and add the links let me know and I'll read them, I'm interested in a better understanding of what you wrote here.
I read the constitution recently, started after the election to try and understand wtf is going on and just finished it. I can tell you we have not been following that thing for a while it CLEARLY states a bunch of stuff we are not doing and there are amendments on top of amendments that even contradict each other.
i am also doing this putting whatever i have left in crypto interested in ways i can pay less or no taxes etc we need to divorce ourselves from their machine
Lion party. Ted is coming with us.
I'm hijacking this comment to ask you a question. If Trump's comment section on Twitter was ruled as a public forum, and he was ruled by a judge not to block people because it restricts their access to "the public square", (he can still mute people, so the ruling is arguably fair in that he still has the ability to protect himself from abuse), then .... when Twitter BANS the president, and therefore bans ALL the comment sections on ALL of his tweets ... didn't Twitter violate the law by destroying multiple public squares???
It was when he was Obama's VP and he was swearing in the Senators. The families all come up and they all take a photo with him. I watched the whole thing on CSPAN for some reason. He sniffed EVERY SINGLE KID!!!
One of my relatives always said McConnell looks like a pedophile and I always argued and defended him, I'm so disappointed in myself :(
Advice to myself: Younger pede, always listen to your elders ... you don't have to believe in what they are saying but just listen, they have more life experience than you and might pick up on things you have yet to learn ...
Look you clearly already have your mind made up about this and seem researched enough about law which is an area I'm interested in too. I'll try to point out what I see are some flaws in what you're saying and why you're getting so many downvotes. You're definitely not taking a position that's antithetical to the mainstream right so I'm sure you're on other forums where your opinion is backed up, but to me and most people here your opinion isn't making a lot of sense.
The whole issue including the "certification by the governors" comes from the 1887 Electoral Count Act; it is NOT what's written in the US Constitution; the ECA is completely contrary to what's written, it is unconstitutional.
So you admit that there are already unconstitutional laws that have been passed and we are already functioning on a system that is no longer based in the constitution. Therefore arguing "Pence doesn't have the constitutional power to do this" is a moot point because we are no longer playing by the book anyway. This is what Democrats openly acknowledge and it's why they get more done in government than we do.
The whole "voting laws were illegally changed without the consent of legislators" is NOT the job or power of the VP to fix this. This is the power of the State Legislatures & Courts.
The state legislatures brought their cases to the courts both before AND after the election and were refused to be heard both times. Your point here that it isn't the VP's job to fix it is exactly why I am so angry at Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell. After the President, they are the most powerful members of the Republican party. If they don't have the power, and the legislature DOES have the power, why didn't they support the legislatures cases and the courts to hear the cases?
This entire fiasco, literally could have been avoided, had the three most powerful Republicans--Trump, Pence, and McConnell--got together and put pressure on the court to examine what the majority of their constituents wanted them to do. Let's say they don't even uncover enough evidence to overturn the election it still could have forced the left's hand on having more transparent and fair elections, not this ridiculous middle-of-the night counting for 4 days after etc etc. It's a win-win scenario. And they didn't take it. So we lost Georgia.
Also, the pressure on the court from BLM activists and rioting mobs was greater than the pressure from our side so the result is that WE don't get what WE want. There is one game that boils down here and it's power and we don't have it.
It's DJT who was in charge of the FBI, Secret Service, and military and could arrest all the criminals/wrong-doers.
I don't know if you're aware of this but Trump had terrible advisors and even some in the military openly admitted to lying to him so they could keep their troop numbers up. Trump NEVER had control of the FBI.
This was a time for Republican leadership to use the more familiar to them powers of the government to make happen what Trump and the people want and they didn't do it.
They took an oath to uphold the constitution and they did not follow through on their oaths. You have to "break a few eggs to make an omelet." By not taking any stance on the issue of election fraud, they let the Democrats win and the Democrats are going scorched earth as they promised. They will pack the courts, end the filibuster, and do any other number of innumerable and irreversible changes to the constitution as they have been doing.
I'm glad you posted this! I'm on 4chan and I remember the first Q posts. I remember I thought it looked kind of interesting but I didn't really have time to read all that text. I remember thinking "If something happens with Q I'll hear about it and that's fine with me."
Wow, did Q totally explode! But it was always theories and hypothesis. Not enough ever confirmed to make me interested. Still I thought it was a good thing to start getting people to think critically and investigate, kind of my same opinion on Alex Jones.
Unfortunately people can be misled and not everyone is sensitive enough to realize they're being lied to. It's OK! Q supporters were overwhelmingly Trump Supporters and against the Deep State. If anything they learned an important lesson. TRUST, BUT VERIFY.
Q should have only ever been a fun thing to grab onto. Not something to place bets on! So what that some desperate people got into it. I think attacking Q supporters is pointless! Q exposed a lot of people to the deep state, pedophile elite, the concept of leakers, and alphabet agencies. Attacking each other doesn't help anyone!
Pence went to multiple rallies where Trump and other people said they want him to do something about the electors, then he got on stage to cheering crowds and gave speeches about fighting for democracy, then he turned around at the last minute and changed the rules about how electoral votes are counted so his role is ceremonial.
NOBODY in their right mind who understands the constitution expected Pence to count votes for Trump that didn't come in. What we expected is Pence to use every avenue available to investigate fraud and cheating and acknowledge the fact that these electors were certified by governors when they are supposed to be certified by the legislature in states where voting laws were illegally changed without the consent of legislators ANYWAY. We literally just wanted him to uphold the checks and balances already built in to the system!
I wanted to hear from Mike Pence acknowledgement BEFORE Ashli Babbitt was shot that he wasn't going to do anything or what the legal recourse could be for us but he didn't provide it. He snuck around and played both sides until the last second when he moved to backstab Trump and that's why she got killed. Now state legislators who went to the capitol protest ARE LITERALLY BEING HAULED AWAY AND ARRESTED BY THE FBI. Pence had multiple other nonswampy avenues he could have used to prepare people for what was coming but he instead colluded with the enemy to inflict the most pain on the patriotic wing of the Republican Party. He deserves all the heat he gets because he is a traitor.
Have an upvote, you need more for this comment. The left-wing media and our swamp government colluded to take our rights away. The Capitol WAS Civil Disobedience and has been made ILLEGAL for ONE side of the aisle.
The left understands Schmitt's Friend-Enemy Distinction as the core of all politics: you punish your enemies as harshly as possible and reward your allies as much as you can, no matter what. That's what we should have been doing the entire time.
100% exactly great comment. This is why I'm so frustrated with the GOP. Whether or not they "like" Trump, didn't matter. They should have been behind him 100%. Instead they kept backstabbing him (and us, by extension.) The board shifted under Republican's feet and they're playing a different game than Democrats, who by controlling institutions like academia, control the board.
I can't answer all your questions in detail but I follow Trump and politics (especially law) pretty closely and my impression is that they (mainly meaning McConnell and Pence) threatened Trump after the Jan 06 protests.
Trump's tone changed dramatically after he told us to "Go Home" whenever he was on camera--he had a few gasps on Twitter before they censored him but whenever he makes a public appearance, I've noticed him saying things he would never say before. He's increased the meaningless hum-hawing political rhetoric which we always liked that he never did that. He's always been direct and forceful but now he's cowed.
Notice how the Dems rushed the second impeachment through? They couldn't agree on money for us for over 8 months but they could throw together impeachment on no evidence with no committee and nothing backing it up in merely a few days. Now why would they do that?
Legal scholars debate if Trump could be tried for his impeachment after he's left office. But, IF the Senate convicted him (which they absolutely would, now that they're Democrat majority, and it's not like they care about the constitution. They do illegal things all the time.) he will lose his secret service detail.
SUPPOSEDLY McConnell pointed this out to Trump and told him he would support impeachment in the Senate as minority leader (remember he told the Republicans NOT to challenge the electoral results? And Mike Pence changed the rules last minute to be more of a ceremonial role?)
When I look at the events of the last two months through this lens it all makes a LOT more sense. Why would McConnell throw Georgia by blocking Trump's 2k stimulus bill? He didn't care if the GOP lost the senate. Why would the Dems rush through the second impeachment when according to legal scholars it was TOTALLY MEANINGLESS based on the constitution? Because they want the chance to take Trump's Secret Service protection and Presidential pension.
I agree with everything you said. It's been a wild ride.
Why would he congratulate someone who had to cheat in order to win?
Every single thing you are saying, you are operating from the place that you know better than me. You are assured in your own mind that your perception of how I perceive deserves to be demonized.
Don't confuse the fact that I hate this asshole with the blanket assertion that literally everything he did was evil...that's your game, shared with the shrill Vox/New Yorker crowd.
I don't have a game.
I'd rather see cuts for working Americans
I am first generation American and my father is a laborer. We did see tax cuts.
He has given much more than a wink and a nod to white supremacists, and you know that.
Every single time with the white supremacy.
I'd suggest consuming a higher-quality media diet if you think media is intrinsically polarizing
You assume that I don't have a "high quality media diet" when I do read Reason (which is not right-wing, for the record), the Atlantic, National Review, Nature, etc. The primary reason I became a conservative--Thomas Sowell. Basic Economics. Have you read it?
And the true believers are more than happy to drift off into paranoiac fantasies where that was all just created by a "deep state"
It's not paranoiac fantasies, it's a direct result of, among long-term issues like there being no term limits, and Obama-era policies that created a bloated bureaucracy and purged the military and government of his ideological opponents. Obama ruled through executive order--this is a fact, and to uphold the orders he had to inflated the bureaucracy. This concerns me because throughout history bureaucracies have been a tool of oppressive, tyrannical governments. I want to LIMIT the power of the federal government and that is impossible with Democrats in office.
This is the disease of liberalism. "I know better than you, even about what you think is best for yourself."
It was a court in New York state I believe, but yes. The Democrats are now openly breaking the laws which were set in place for THEIR BENEFIT. The court ruled that the space the President uses to communicate with people are "public forums". Twitter broke the law when they banned Trump by destroying multiple public forums. They are breaking their rules here again by turning off comments.
We need better lawyers on our side. FUCK that cuck Ben Shapiro and other milquetoast conservatives who have law degrees but never target even OBVIOUS LOW HANGING FRUIT. I can't STAND these people anymore they are WORTHLESS.
