This is the hard part that people need to understand. The US Military is ran like a communist state already. The government has almost complete control over us when we join; many, many rules apply to us that don't apply to the average citizen. Adultery is illegal and if caught it can ruin your career, for example.
So on top of having strict rules that can destroy our careers and thus employment outside of the military, we are entrusted with killing the enemies of the US. To ensure we aren't all psyco's, there are strict ethical values that we all must follow and the corrupt commie politicians in our government are using those current values as a way to enforce this one-sided stance on "extremism".

The good news is that many people in military think this training is complete one-sided bullshit. The bad is that it isn't the highest ranking or at least the majority in the highest ranks and they are trying to indoctrinate the lowest ranking to go along with the lies. If they succeed, and it will take a good 10-20 years of brainwashing from basic training on, then we will be fucked. But they are trying to blue pill a bunch of Gen Z who are pretty based at the low level and Gen X, like myself, who won't participate in this trash. In the end it will be up to us citizens to dig into the asses of our politicians, be vocal and annoying. Make them know that this isn't accepted behavior from politicians and that we will make sure they never have a job in politics if they follow this policy. Vote them out.

As a military member, I can say for a fact, that this is not how airstrikes work AT ALL, unless it has major ramifications (eg Nuclear facility in Iran, etc).
