My dad was very, very pro college when I was young. Now my kids are nearly college age, and I feel like a trade school would serve them better. They focus on core skills, it's two years or less in many cases, and you come out with a small fraction of the debt and ready to earn some decent money.
I've shared that opinion with them numerous times. I admit I'm also more than a little worried at how even a city college would be just another bullshit re-education center. My kids already absorbed enough of that crap from public school.
