we used to have that in Bucharest in the 90s and up to 2012 or so. Thankfully the mayors did a very good job and forced most of them underground. Some areas have no hanged wiring at all.
Yes, most of them probably don't work but they are considered private property and can't be removed without a lot of stupid paperwork. Companies prefer to have them hang there "just in case".

In small towns or on secondary streets we have trash bins (one or more), never bags. And ONLY on trash day.
In larger towns on main streets the trash (also in trash bins) is collected in the back of the buildings. Seeing trash laying around on boulevards is extremely uncommon.
The one thing that continues to shock me is how common letting trash in the street on trash day is in the US. When i visited NY i was just... wtf.. wtf

I think a big chunk will see what the dems are doing but there's just the very big chunk of lifetime dems that didn't vote in 2016 out of convenience.
And the demographics that you just can't deny. Young people vote dems, old vote reps. 4 years have passed, old people passed away, replaced by young dems who hear orange man bad 24/7
My only hope is that voting for trump will be seen by youngsters as "hip" and "anti establishment".. basically a rebellion of some sorts and will vote trump out of impulse.
tbh i am quite concerned of high voter turnout. Trump won 2016 only because Dems were complacent and thought Hillary has it anyway, so they saved themselves some hours for the day.
Don't forget Trump also had the elderly vote (more wise people) and some of them died since 2016. In the meantime many young people got the right to vote and they will vote Biden.
