In my experience, people tend to be standoffish in the turk/armo/ruso/azerpheres because they aren't sure if you're gonna get all crazy on them or something because some people are like that. I remember this russian bartender who looked Armenian got really like nervous and defensive when I asked him if he was Armenian. He's like "oh no I'm russian what do you want from me bro?" I was like it's all good I'm only asking cuz I'm Armenian and you look kind of Armenian. He was like ohh ok I thought you were going to assume I'm a turk haha. This was in pasadena like 10 years ago. I miss those bars even tho I don't drink anymore. They're probably all closed or have become speakeasies.
