It's ironic that in the beginning, if you were to be serious about the disease, you're called crazy and paranoid. But now, a year later when the virus hs evolved to be less deadly and with improved therapeutics and vaccines, now people are more scared than ever.
Hello fellow angry Asian! What pissed me off is my other Asian friend supporting the BLM rhetoric when it's all based on a lie. And she thinks I'm the one who have a problem when she's virtual signaling all over social media with the dumb black squares.
"We Asians need to support black people. They need our help".
"Why don't we focus on our own people first before helping others? And black people aren't some helpless group where they need our help. Isn't that kind of looking down on them?"
"Well, one day we would need help from them, so we should help them today".
"Uh... So you're using black people?"

Ain't that right. True friends would be open to discussion regardless of how uncomfortable a difference in opinions is. I wouldn't mind continuing a friendship with leftists if they're open-minded, but we all know that's an oxymoron.
Isn't that crazy how it works? People who have known you forever, they know your heart and your mind all of a sudden turning on you. I thought if anyone would understand me, it'll be my best friend. Boy, was in wrong. Now I just consider her an acquaintance, because a true friend would not plug their ears and turn their back on you.
I'm thankful for you guys on this site, makes me feel less alone.
I noticed that exaggerated, dramatic way about Newsmax too. Extremes exists on both sides, it's just the other side from CNN. When they manipulate your emotions, you know something's shady. It's not news, it's entertainment.
An ex-friend of mine is bitching on Instagram that she can’t get a test and is imploring people to stay home in order to save the tests for “essential workers” like her. I can not stand the level of selfishness and hypocrisy of people like her.
Meanwhile she’s going out for some stupid light show for fun. And she’s applauding our governor for shutting down everything again. Yet she’s virtual signaling and telling people to “support small businesses”. How the hell are people going to support small businesses when they’re not allowed to open?
It is such a sad way to live. I have this one coworker who does this kind of hanging out with her cousins. They open all their windows and stay 6 feet away from one another while wearing masks.
And then there’s my friend who literally lives in the bedroom and won’t venture to the living room because her boyfriend’s brother would bring friends over and she don’t trust them. She even stays away from her immediate family and tries to minimize contact with her parents and siblings.
Kudos on living your life like a normal human being! Now I just need to find like-minded people myself.
I could see it’s both. This guy I know hates going out in general anyways, and now that he gets to work at home so it’s awesome. Now he thinks he’s a freaking hero for staying home because that’s what the media tells him. But at the same time he’s scared shitless and don’t want to see anyone because he don’t wanna catch the coof, so he willingly quarantine him and his girlfriend.
That’s awesome to hear. Unfortunately for me, I found out of my “friends” are pathetic sheep who are fully brainwashed. They refuse to leave their houses. And the few times we hung out it wasn’t even fun cuz they had the retarded face diapers on. I miss hanging out with people like normal human beings.
I need new friends.
After following the Hunter laptop story and seeing all of the ties to China, I do believe Biden is definitely compromised.
In terms of rolling out a communist plan, I wouldn’t be surprised if they proceed with it. We’re getting a sneak peak of what they want with all this lockdown nonsense where people aren’t allowed to work. People forced to shut down their businesses and stay home. They are under the complete mercy of the government for a handout. People are are lining up at grocery stores for food and toilet paper as if they’re in Venezuela.
All great questions. This is the kind of thing we need to encourage, critical thinking. Like the left, some of us on our side also falls into the trap of believing something definitively and reflexively rejecting opposing views, even if there are substance to it. I guess it’s human nature, I find myself doing that sometimes and have to check myself.
There’s definitely something eerie to what’s been happening, especially when things are not adding up. Before this year there’s a lot of things I wouldn’t have considered to be true, but now I wouldn’t be surprised at anything.
Same here. This year have opened up my eyes to so much. So-called “scientific studies” are flawed because scientists are dependent on funding. A lot of the time the entities funding a research are looking for a certain result, so it’s in the researchers best interest to come out with a conclusion that matches the desired outcome or else they may not get money in the future. It’s ass-backwards.
Thanks for sharing, this thread has been an interesting exchange. I myself have been trying to reconcile the data, my observations from personal life, and stories I hear from trusted sources. From the data and personal life, I’ve come to the conclusion that young people shouldn’t worry about this disease, especially from dying. But then I’ve heard from a close friend how he knows two young, healthy people who have suffered from side effects after recovering from it. They say they feel like they couldn’t run as much as they could before because now they get out of breathe quicker.
After reading one of the responses about vaping lung injury, I asked my friend about the two guys. Turns out they both vaped. I’m curious about your sister-in-law’s patients whether that’s the same case. I think the reason some people may be reacting strongly to your story is because of covid alarmism fatigue. A lot of us are just sick of hearing how we need to be continually scared. Unfortunately, this is the disservice that the media have done to legitimate conversations like this. Please don’t take it personally, I think we’re all just a little stir crazy at this point with everything that’s been going on.
I remember seeing that pic back when I used to go on Reddit. Just a bunch of nasty people making fun of how “unpresidential “ he looked. Now that I’m on the other side, knowing all the amazing things Trump have done for us, I have a new sense of appreciation and admiration for him seeing this picture.
I have a similar story to yours, except I was never political. I just thought I was a Democrat because I'm from a blue state and that's all I've known. I supported all the things you used to as well because it just sounded nice, I didn't know any better. I used to have a callous view on abortion but now I'm pro-life as well.
It's been a strange journey this year. I used to scoff at religion, but I've come to realize how much society and Hollywood have influenced me to the think negatively of it. Now I've been more open to understanding God and his word. I've been listening to online sermons and they have been making a lot of sense to me.
You’re right, those are covid specific symptoms. Loss of sense of taste and smell is due to zinc deficiency .
