There is actually an answer to that. Within about 40ish years at most.

The mechanical cotton picker wasn't available until the '30s, so 70ish years for that. They also planted/harvested crops other than cotton. Manual labor is used for harvest to this day (I won't get started on whether migrant workers are slave labor.) And that doesn't account for non-mechanical slave use such as housekeeping.

If the Republicans and Lincoln had never existed, and the Civil War never fought, the Democrats would have greatly expanded slavery (and their power) into the west.

I think slavery would have lasted much longer than 40 years, possibly another 90+. I believe the population would have eventually forced them to abolish, but it still would have probably required some sort of war to wrench that power from them.
