Hello fellow Houstonian! Unfortunately it seems to be a decision made by the archdiocese. You might find a handful that are not fully complying, but our parish is the same way. My brother’s parish is even stricter, they take temperatures at the door and lock the doors after mass starts (people can still leave, but no one can come in late)
You might try emailing the parish office or getting on the list for communion to be brought to you. They are definitely going to be slow about easing up, which is really exasperating. 🙄🙄🙄
