And if you manage to lie and pass the check, if you ever get caught with your firearm and marijuana, well, firearms and possession of controlled substances is an automatic felony. Which means goodbye 2a rights for you.
As long as it remains illegal on a federal level, decriminalization is only an easy way for the government to confuse people into giving up their second amendment rights.

If it's a supply issue, look into building one yourself. Lots of manufactures have uppers, lowers, and the necessary parts kit. It's usually moderately cheaper to build yourself, just takes a bit of patience and confidence to put everything together. You can find stripped lowers usually for less than $100. And AR-15s share uniform design between manufacturers, so mixing and matching parts is a non-issue.
I started an AR-10 build recently. Had a pretty good time finding .308 at my local store, too.
