Bucking widely-held notions about municipal inefficiency, workers from the city Department of Transportation descended on the display less than 24 hours later — around 10 p.m. Saturday — to cover up the message with black, according to the attendee.

Lol

the gaul of these people in NYC nonetheless. i was lifeguarding on labor day and a guy like the one on the camera climbed over my barrier ropes and started taking my blue lives matter flag down. i got between him and the flag. he poked me twice demanded to see my supervisor and asked for my name. i walked away, as my friends were protecting flag, and i got out of uniform. he proceeded to push my boss' wife before my (rather large) friends removed him. we all showed restraint, because if we beat him, it would be a hate crime (he was obviously some sort of lgtbkoaosdfaaksdfqqwerqwer.

tldr: these people need a good beating, and they have some balls getting into city worker's faces, knowing there will be no consequences.

edit (labor day, not memorial day)

I would love for this to come to nyc. i dodged the doe's mandatory "implicit bias training" for 2 years, and would love to have lived my life having avoided this insulting endeavor.
