I was in the Navy - 1989-1993 - My second command was a Merchant Marine Vessel... Oceanography. There was about 100 Merchant Marines and 30 Navy. Our Navy Unit Commander was a Woman - She was 100% Useless and constantly fought with the Merchant Marine Captain who was actually in charge of the ship. Made this very hard even back then.... I am not arguing competence but her Knee jerk reactions were horrific.
