Download the PDF... I actually tried the "audio book" from the link after this comment, ouch hard to listen to... I'm not done with all the volumes yet, but it's hard to put down.

The stepping on the needle part was the highlight of the article.

I wonder if the guy who shot himself in the chest after being charged for being at the capital feels the same. My guess is he felt abandoned and betrayed.

Me too, but to say he did everything he promised is bogus. Most voted for one thing, drain the swamp.

A cheap handheld less than 50 bucks, a good Hf rig about a grand. You might need a power supply you can build an antenna with wire, you might need some coax. Depending on your rig and antenna you might want a tuner too.

Funny thing is, everyone here is talking about getting their tech license and a baofeng, and although that's where the newcomers go. That's also where the members mentality only comes in. People have to maintain the repeaters they cost money and people abuse them, so I get it. Hf on the other hand is more like what you see on the Donald are there shitposters, spammers, troublemakers, social Nets, emergency Nets, and Joe talking to Jim. People who welcome the newcomers and people who shun them.. it's more like the internet, find where you enjoy being

Often radio operators will use a tone to create output so they can see how resonant an antenna is. New operators probably don't realize if you are close to a frequency someone is using Voice on that tone will interfere.

75 meters can be very useful, but winter band conditions makes it hard to hear stations too close most of the day. HF antennas can be really long but they dont have to be big, just a really long wire cut to the right length. With the Internet working webSDR.Org is a great way to hear remotely. Utah & half-moon bay are the best listening option on the west coast. Noontime net on 40m is great too.
